I think the Celtics news is over for the day. Yeah, I can see Horford being a possibility in LA if the Clippers sign Kawhi.

This is actually a good deal:

"Aminu is headed to Orlando
Free agent forward Al-Farouq Aminu agreed to a three-year, $29 million deal with the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski."
I don't think it is. They have Gordon, Isaac and Just drafted Okeke. I don't know what the Magic are doing. They should be adressing that backcourt I feel

Dallas have nearly re-signed Kleber.

Really like old Maxi, wanted him on Cs.

Imagine being a Knicks fan right now
LOL. Can't wait for the NY newspapers' sports sections tomorrow. The first bunch of pages will be on the Nets and the Knicks might get a tiny 2" x 2" section in the corner of the first page saying Knicks signed Randle(Story on page 7 of sports section).
According to Bobby Marks, the Knicks still have 51M in cap space.  Imagine the damage they can do with that.  Hmm...  Trade for Wall, Trade for Paul, Trade for Wiggins, Overpay a bunch of back benchers.  Choices. Choices.

It's like giving a baby an AK-47!

Is it though? The Magic will have like over $70 million tied up on their frontcourt of:

Vucevic
Bamba
Mozgov
Gordon
Isaac

If Fournier plays big minutes at SF, is Aminu even going to get regular minutes in that rotation? I think that's a waste of $9 million when your PG rotation is  32 year old DJ Augustin and Markelle Fultz.

Why would he play SF when he is a SG and the Magic have a bunch of bigger wings? They absolutely need to address their PG situation, but that team is still young. I don't necessarily think it would have been better for them to sign Rozier for $19M/yr. I am sure they want to see what they have in Fultz, but are otherwise remaining patient while sketchy PGs are getting big money from other teams. All of these mid-range contracts are very tradable.

$36 million a year for tobias harris? wow.
Considering some of the other contracts given so far I wouldn't consider that a wow.

Remove your Sixers fandom for a few minutes and reassess.

Thanks.
He actually took a bit less than his full Max.  If you all thought a near all-star was going to sign for much less than that, you need to go back to remedial NBA financials course.

It's a lot of money, but not a surprise - I fully expected Harris to get the max (or just about). At least Philly didn't lose the MIA pick and Shamet for a rental; Harris will be a big part of their team moving forward. He is a really good player (still probably overpaid, though).
Most of the contracts given out so far are overpays.  The value contracts are for the true stars and good rookies.

Exactly.

Overpaying for a guy that is more talented, but not as good a fit for a guy you had on a much better contract (Covington) is a horrible trade off.
They didn't trade Covington for Harris.  They traded Covington and Saric for Butler.
Covington is a really nice role player but we exposed his limitations in the playoffs the previous season.  Covington's streaky shooting and inability to drive by a blind, lame girl scout made easy to layoff him at times.  Can't have that when you've also got Simmons.

I understand they weren’t traded for each other; however, Harris is the Covington replacement going forward. I hope the 133M extra you guys are paying him is well worth it.  ;)
I keep saying that I'm an Embiid fan not a Sixers fan but some of you people must have extra big, thick goggles.  Hate to break it to you but Harris isn't that far off from Kemba.

Wait a guy that has made the all star game 3x in a row, just made all nba 3rd team despite playing in one of the smallest markets in the league with no help is close to Tobias Harris who has been passed around the league like a cold and never accomplished any of these things once?

Yes and multiple times his teams got better after he left including most recently the clippers this season. There are hot takes, and there are hoooot takes. Harris close to walker despite their career accomplishments is egregious!

Walker received 51 vote for an all nba team. Harris received 2 lone third place votes, 11th among forwards and one lone vote above rookie Marvin bagley. Lol

Why do they have to use the term "mystery team" specifically for Horford, while everyone else like Jimmy Butler gets tied to Miami Heat or Derrick Rose to the Pistons or Kemba Walker to the Celtics or heck Kawhi Leonard to the Lakers/Clippers

Yeah, if nothing else, Kawhi seems like he's thoroughly enjoying being the talk of LA right now.  He might just be indulging himself before retreating back to the quiet, comfortable confines of Toronto, or maybe he really is set on LA.  Either way, I expect him to take his time savoring being the apple of everyone's eye, while truly trying to decide what he wants most and who can best fulfill that.
