Rumor that Rozier may be getting a 3 year 58 mill contract in a S&T to the Hornets.

DANG!

He didn't like being 2nd fiddle to Lebron.  Let's see how he likes being 2nd fiddle to KD.

Being second fiddle to Lebron had him in finals year after year after year. Durant is no drop off there if he recovers. This is a big obstacle for us over the next five years minus next year. Worst scenario for us and our division.

Wont be same player

Not trying to throw shade, but I'm not sure why teams are so willing to sign KD to a longterm max. Boogie looks toast and KD'll be 32 before he plays another game. Just thinking that this is a marketing move instead of a basketball move...

Yeah, he might never be the same player.  But, if he is 80% the player he was, he is still a top level talent.

He will definitely never be the same player.  He will still be a knockdown shooter with a unguardable jumpshot.

The problem with Boogie wasnt the offense. He was incapable of guarding anyone. He'd be asked to guard elite wings... i just dont see this working out well, but they obviouslt have to go for it.

On top of it, Kyrie can do a lot of damage in their 1 year  without KD and Deandre Jordan is pretty much washed up...

Awesome! As good as Brooklyn's summer has been, I think ours has been nearly as good given what it looked like we were heading to just a few weeks ago.

We essentially are going to upgrade last year's team with an All-NBA talent who isn't a malcontent and actually wants to be here, all while retooling with a solid draft and more free agent additions to come (like a Kanter).

Bravo, Danny. Freaking bravo!

Bobby Marks @BobbyMarks42

Brooklyn will need to clear some money or have Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant take a slight discount. The Nets are $1.2M short of a KD $38.19M max slot. Moving a player like Dzanan Musa would clear $1M in salary.

By the way - who in their right mind is giving Rozier just short of $20M per season? What a dumb, dumb owner MJ is lol Kemba even at the full five year max is such a better investment.

Wow.  That would be awesome if it happens.  It seems like it was certain Al was gone after both sides agreed to stop negotiating earlier.

That's a pretty gigantic "if," as guys typically never recover from Achilles tears.

I do not know many pgs who are not "Beta flakes"

There is only so much you can do at a miniature size, I tip my hat to Kyrie for not having pride about it, but being real. Kemba is not taking ya'll anywhere, trust me. He is more of an iso guy and smaller than Kyrie. Check his usage.

Lets keep it real, Kyrie was not the only pg to lose in the playoffs. Some went home earlier than him, others did not even make it..It is not like Dame, Harden or Westbrook proven that they can be the best players on championship teams....

Anyway, this is bad for anyone planning on contending. The best closer in the game in Kyrie, and the best player in the game in Durant. 2 top ten players on the same team, then add Jordan and the fact they were already a playoff team? Wowsers :blank:.

My newly hated team.  Here's to hoping they get bounced in the 1st round next year and KD is a shell of his former self.
It's not going to work out nearly as well as they think it will.

I agree.  Depending on how the rest of the things in the East play out, it's unlikely Kyrie leads Brooklyn deep into the playoffs while Durant recovers as well.  I hope Kyrie is ready for more of the same criticism that he got in Boston.

I'm seeing a pattern developing.

Kyrie goes to a new team. This time the star that's injured is an even bigger star. They play one season with Kyrie and a set of good young players, then the following year Durant shows up and everyone takes a back seat. What could go wrong?

I also question the D'Andre Jordan signing. They have Jarrett Allen. They had no use for him. It shows who is in charge. I expect issues in Brooklyn.

There are still several hurdles to clear for Boston, but confidence is growing that they will be able to get to where they need to complete a S&T for Kemba Walker, while staying over the cap to re-sign Al Horford, while keeping the full MLE and staying just under the hard cap.
