The Kings are also expected to come to quick terms with Dewayne Dedmon on a three-year, $40 million deal when free agency formally opens. That deal has a partial guarantee in the third year.

Hat tip to them. Kyrie realizes that he’s a Beta flake.

My newly hated team.  Here's to hoping they get bounced in the 1st round next year and KD is a shell of his former self.
It's not going to work out nearly as well as they think it will.

Yeah, people are really underestimating the Achilles injury for a player of his size and game. He'll still be good, but he's not going to be nowhere where he was. I doubt he'll even be All-Star level anymore. Certainly won't be enough for them to get a title with him and Kyrie as the guys.

Still, though, they may be justified in taking that risk.
He'll also be 32 by the time he returns from the injury, and we all know that first year is generally a recovery year, so he won't be "100 percent" until he's 33.

That's why this doesn't really bother me all that much. If KD were healthy, THEN we would have a major problem.

How are they signing Jordan if Temple is getting the room exception??

Maybe thats why there may be a 3 ways S&T with the Nets/Celts/Hornets.

He didn't like being 2nd fiddle to Lebron.  Let's see how he likes being 2nd fiddle to KD.

Being second fiddle to Lebron had him in finals year after year after year. Durant is no drop off there if he recovers. This is a big obstacle for us over the next five years minus next year. Worst scenario for us and our division.

Jesus. That's a ton of money for Dedmon.

Also one less Horford suitor, which is making me wonder even more if Ainge really has something in the works here.

That's a pretty gigantic "if," as guys typically never recover from Achilles tears.

Do we really think the Nets will help facilitate a 3-team S&T with the Celtics--essentially helping out their top rival? Is a 1st rounder worth that much to them?

I agree.  Depending on how the rest of the things in the East play out, it's unlikely Kyrie leads Brooklyn deep into the playoffs while Durant recovers as well.  I hope Kyrie is ready for more of the same criticism that he got in Boston.

EFFING RIGHT DOGGY! This means we're probably keeping Al and maybe Mook, all while also getting the full MLE!!

Not trying to throw shade, but I'm not sure why teams are so willing to sign KD to a longterm max. Boogie looks toast and KD'll be 32 before he plays another game. Just thinking that this is a marketing move instead of a basketball move...

Yeah, he might never be the same player.  But, if he is 80% the player he was, he is still a top level talent.

He will definitely never be the same player.  He will still be a knockdown shooter with a unguardable jumpshot.
