Nice night for Romeo. 3 of 5 from the field, 6 points, 2 steals, 1 TO.

From what I saw, Romeo is a slasher.

He can take it to the hole.

True.

That's his best asset in college.

Those floaters are gold

He has a jaylen brown/tatum hybrid feel about him

Not saying he is better or will be better than either.... but

If Celts are keeping him long term then I think his time to shine will be 2022-23.

That's when Hayward is in his early 30s.

That 6-11 wingspan was so evident last night like the way he can defend the low crossover and like Tatum he is going to create mayhem in passing lanes .My favorite part of defence was watching him get over screens ,drops his shoulder and his ability to get back into plays on a players shooting arm.The kid moves really well very deceptive with good lower body strength
Now if you want a" slasher extraordinaire", it used to be Jaylen now you gotta give it to Green.A blur to a ferocious dunk.
What is it with the name Green and high flyers.

After watching him play last night, I wonder if Langford should get minutes over Edwards. Edwards is the better outside shooter, but when his shot isn't falling he adds nothing. Langford, on the other hand, has great slashing ability and isn't a negative defensively

Hard to say whether he's better off playing starter minutes in Maine or ~10 mpg up here, though
I'm bitter.

Until we have Smart/Hayward healthy I'd rather he be here. Especially since he looked better last night than against the Mavs, just want to see progress if he keeps getting minutes. (and obviously whatever progress/work he's doing behind the scenes)

after the james young experience , bar injuries  Romeo seems to be at least comfortable on the court

While he did blow a few defensive assignments he was active on defense. I was very encouraged how engaged he was.

Happy the kid got a few buckets under his belt.
ok fine

Well, I’ve been very bearish on Edwards from the beginning so the idea that Langford should get priority is an easy call for me, especially once you consider where they drafted.

I love the optimism but lets wait until Lagnford and Grant can pull quality minutes against hard playing / well coached teams like Heat, Jazz and Nuggets.
The current iteration of the Pistons team is a sad example of an NBA team that is stealth-tanking and can have horrible performances like last night.

I am encourage by his apparent control and strength. A lot of rookies don’t look like they belong on the court physically. Romeo at least can control space and his drives to the basket weren’t wild and out of control.

Absolutely. Game against Charlotte is another great tuneup for him, and then aside from Toronto we’ve got games against a bunch of mediocre to bad teams. Almost a month’s worth. Maybe he’ll come up to speed yet.

I really like what I saw out of him and think he needs more minutes to develop and get comfortable. He uses his length on D and is pretty crafty with the dribble. He looks like a good change of pace player

Watched the game and I was impressed with his polish. Some of the moves he pulled off when he had the ball were stuff that you'd only expect from a veteran, and he made getting to the basket effortless with his quickness and skill. He has the potential to be a really good scorer if he improves his shot, it's pretty wacky from three so far.

The defence was pretty encouraging imo, he blew some assignments but was pretty active overall and had his moments with some timely interceptions.
