Even if we assume that he could replicate his playoff production as a long term starter, he would still be a below average starting option. Though he has the confidence and demeanor of a top 10 point guard, at least.
If the Celts trade for Anthony Davis anyway while retaining Jaylen, Hayward, and Horford, Terry could be acceptable as a fifth starter. But I'm not sure he'll ever be happy on a team where he isn't empowered to be one of the top 3 scoring options.

In that situation you go hard with full MLE at Rubio or Beverly. (assuming smart is not retained)
Beverly is an otheroworldly defender who can knock down shots and set up teammates.
Gordon is point forward.
Brown is 3andd with driving abilities.
Horford playmakes
Davis is #1 alpha dog scorer.

This. I like the idea alot of a JB PB back court with AD and AH anchoring the paint. GH becomes your weakest link on D which ain't half bad...
Offense would be GH and AH as the facilitators, feeding JB and AD primarily, with all of the other 3 getting their share.
I want to see a strong D team with unselfish passing and potent front court scoring to see if it could work. Would likely need a ring chasing 3 point specialist on the vet min to really round out the roster for the 2-3 spot, or maybe a BU PG better than TR that can hit the 3 and distribute.
