Don’t know if credible, but this trajectory offers a fun opportunity to play with the trade machine.

How about Dario Saric?
Kind of got lost in ‘sota but was pretty impressive in Philly.

Maybe it would require taking back Dieng and his contract, and executing a sign and trade  (yeah, I know many say that the s&t is dead)
Assuming the S&t is not dead, how about
Marcus Morris for Dieng and RW3 and 14 for Saric.

Sota does this because I think they regret the Dieng contract, and either Terry or Marcus Morris would make Thibs happy.

Saric would slide right into the 4 spot along side the young J’s

As I’ve been saying if this is true then you have;
Smart,Rob3,pick 14, pick 20, pick 22 and Grizzlies Pick as assets for a potential trade. Not sure what that can get you in the real world, but that’s what you got.

Why smart? Because he has the highest trade value right now unless teams value Hayward.

But smart is 1st team all defense, greatly increased is FG% as well as his 3pt%. Hopefully other teams value him high enough to fix our biggest issue, CENTER/PowerForward! If we can cash in some of those assets for an up and coming center we will be solid.

(Example of up and coming center/PF; Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis, Mo Bamba, and Thon Maker.)

I have no problem with resetting and building around J&J. I'm bullish on the future of both.

It seems most likely Kyrie is leaving, and if he does, there is no "fix it now" move, no matter how much we want one.

Gordon Hayward is mostly being ignored in all these scenarios. If he were able to get back to old form, we'd be competitive with anyone in the East. If he doesn't regain his old form, then we're stuck with a bad contract for 2 more years. Until we're shed of his contract, we can't get that Bradley Beal or Kemba Walker or big man whoever you think that last piece might be. Getting a great player with his contract on the books isn't feasible without gutting the team or striking it rich in the draft. It is what it is.

I'm beginning to think more & more that this is what's going to happen.

Can't say I'm enamored with it, though.

After next year he will be an extremely valuable expiring contract. I’m not sure why people are so beat up about Hayward. I promise he wasn’t that bad for it being his first season back. Lol

I don't care what we do as long as we don't resign Kyrie.

I never want to see that guy in a Celtics uniform again.

You know what would be funny?

Celtics Signs and trade Rozier for rights of 6th Pick and Josh Jackson

Then trade Smart and rights of 6th for Bamba and Fultz

Now the Celtics will have Tatum, Jackson,  Fultz, And Bamba 😂

Merged this with the Steve Kyler thread as NESN's "rumor" is off of Kyler's report.

I realize they are related, but I think threads and ideas seem to get lost by all the merging. I am not saying threads should never be merged, but it might be better if they were allowed to stand on their own for a couple of days.

Like, I get that Kyrie is a hot topic nowadays and the amount of threads were probably getting out of control, but I am honestly turned off by threads that have as many pages as the Kyrie complaint one. It just becomes impossible to search through older posts. Subjects such as Kyrie and AD are by far the most popular right now and the threads about them are just scary. Just my opinion, though.

What's funny about this? Fultz and Jackson are both busts. Bamba hasn't gotten on the floor yet.

He left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, but we have to keep in mind his value. He's still a big asset.

If he stays, it's voluntary. AD and Kawai both basically sat down and quit on NO/SAS. In spite of his issues, Kyrie didn't do that. He's still a very valuable player that, worst case, would be a very valuable trade asset in a year or two.

Having said that, rumors and everything else aside, I don't think Brad and Danny even want to work with Kyrie going forward. It seems to me that while Kyrie's relationship with Brad was almost certainly not the only lockeroom issue, no other issue could've shipwrecked the team the way it was this year. And just listening to his tone, I don't think Wyc was real bullish on another year of Kyrie either.

I think he's gone, and along with him, the hope of trading and signing AD.

Heres another one too where Jeff Clark, from the mother-ship Celticsblog, talks about Kyler's tweets and Goodman's about Irving likely to be gone.

Personally I dont like Kyrie, but he is a substantial asset that we can eventually trade if we had to, down the line, even at the trade deadline.

2 years and  $65 million in salary, and we've gotten nothing other than a handful of good games out of Hayward. It's understandable people are put out with him, even though it's not his fault. I also think that Rozier/Brown/Morris/Tatum resented the minutes Brad gave him this year.

Your'e right in that a year from now, the expiring contract might be an asset. But right now, he's a huge question mark with a max salary. OTOH, he also might get back to scoring 20+ and lead us deep into the playoffs. A lot of folks have forgotten how good of a player he was 2 years ago.

Here's the thing- Kyrie knows this too. He gets to choose where he goes once. He's not going to sign to be an "asset". He's only going to sign to play with AD, and only if he feels its his most comfortable option. If he has a shot to play with another MVP candidate, I think he leaves.
