thought this was going to be a choice between Buffalo, BBQ, Teriyaki or Sticky for building a party platter but I guess I misinterpreted the title

Yeah for sure. Helps that we've seen him a lot this season. For me I'd go Kawhi. DPOY level defence and can get you 25-30 + 6-10 rebounds a game with elite efficiency. I just feel like he needs a better team around him and a coach that is willing to use his big men correctlyI don't think Kawhi can carry an offense. He can score, but his play making, getting others involved, etc. is BY FAR the worst of the players on that list. He is the worst rebounder as well. Because of that, I'd have him 4th by a pretty wide margin. Kawhi and KD are pretty comparable rebounders. They've both for the most part hovered between 6-7.5.Conversely, Kawhi is comfortably the best defender on the list (LeBron is laughably bad at this stage) and is a much better shooter than Giannis and LBJ.I think these playoffs have shown that Kawhi can carry an offence. He just has almost no helpStrange that people all of a sudden claim Kawhi has no help on a near 60 win team that had an incredible record when Kawhi was resting for a quarter of the season. I mean if you look at any number of threads on here, Toronto was going to blitz Philadelphia. Seems a bit after-the-fact reactionary to now claim Kawhi has no help. Maybe just maybe it is Kawhi not getting his team involved that is the problem. I mean his career best apg is just 3.5. His career best AST% is just 18.9%. Those are awful #'s compared to the other 3 guys. Kawhi doesn't bring the ball up the floor, he doesn't initiate the offense, etc. He basically gets the ball and creates a shot for himself but not a whole lot else. And because he doesn't do any of that other stuff, he doesn't work nearly as hard offensively which allows him to work harder defensively. All 3 of those other guys absolutely rest defensively, especially during the regular season, because they do so much more on offense, but come play off time, those other 3 guys all absolutely ratchet up the defense, while still maintaining the offense, making them much better all around players. Kawhi is a great player, but he just isn't on the level of the other 3 guys as far as team building.

Lebron had an injury plagued year for a team that didn’t make the playoffs while playing bad defense. That is objectively an indefensible take and i don’t understand why someone would say it with a straight face
What's the point of making a thread titled who would you build around, if it is for only one season, lol.Anyways, my order goes KD, Kawhi, Giannis, and LeBron.

I'd certainly put far more stock in Lebron's team advancing farther in the playoffs, which is in fact the point of this question (at least as I saw it). Heck even this year the Lakers were 28-27 with Lebron and 9-18 without him while the Raptors were 41-19 with Kawhi and 17-5 without him. So the Raptors were significantly better without Leonard while the Lakers were significantly worse without James (and it is a similar sample size).
