First, I don't think the Celtics can trust that he can stay healthy for the long term. He has an injury history which is continuing to be evident this year.
Second, I didn't like Irving calling Lebron to apologize basically throwing his younger teammates under the bus by saying he didn't understand how tough it was on Lebron when he played with the Cavs with Lebron having to deal with young teammates at that time.
Maybe this is why I get so defensive of Irving. Your first point is a completely valid criticism/worry and is exactly what the thread title suggests. You then immediately pivot to a completely unrelated point about Irving's personality. The Lebron thing is a weeks old non-controversy that you feel compelled to bring up again... why? The two things have nothing to do with one another.
It's not that you can't question Irving's comments (of course you can), it's that you've created a thread about one thing and seem to not be able to help throwing in a dig about something unrelated that's more about his personality. It's things like this that make me feel like a lot of the Irving criticism is personal, not logical.
