There are several different trade scenarios that could work from using any of Horford, Hayward, Smart, Tatum, Brown, if we sign a MLE player, smaller pieces like Yabu and Williams any assortment of picks, 3 team deals, just taking back Davis, taking back Davis and Holiday, Davis and unwanted salary, even S&T with Rozier as a separate transaction taking back unwanted salary.  It’s so hard to speculate right now. Lol

What we do know is in the big trades for KG, Ray, trading away KG and Pierce, and Irving trade Ainge has come out of it the clear winner in the end. 

The Knicks potential offer of the 1st or 2nd pick, Smith (excellent prospect), Knox, Dallas picks is a little worrisome.

Yeah the Knicks are worrisome.  We need them to not land #1 or #2 if we have any hope of acquiring Davis for anything close to what I listed.  If they hit and don't beat us outright, they'll drive up the cost.  Including both Tatum AND Smart or even Tatum AND Brown would be painful, as I assume we'd still give up all our picks, maybe RW3 still.

Absolutely not.  The Lakers offered everything they had and still got rejected, NO didn't need the Cetlics to do anything other than sit tight to get everything the Lakers had.

even an offer of Jaylen Brown, Grizzlies pick and a combo of Horford/smart or Rozier would be MILES above the trash the pelicans offered.

They probably should have, but at the same time Lonzo's camp (his dad) came out and said he wouldn't play for NOP. So in that case, what is the package? Kuzma, Ingram, Hart, Zubac, and then a few picks in the 25-30 range likely. The Pelicans don't care about any expirings/$$$, and I don't think they view Hart and Ingram that highly. If Lonzo was willing to play there it may have been a different story, but teams can definitely offer better in the summer b/c of that leverage.

First of all - there will NEVER be another Kevin Garnett. But BOY Anthony Davis is CLOSE........

Now - AD is STILL young...probably a bit still impressionable and taking guidance from Rich Paul and his Dad. Nothing wrong with that.

But there comes a time in a Man's life where he NEEDS to think for HIMSELF...AD needs to look at the ENTIRE PICTURE behind the Isaiah Thomas trade....as much as I love IT4 (still do) Danny Ainge is NOT a monster....

Only if the Pels agree to it so there would have to be a good offer on the table.  PG was supposed to be a 1 year rental and yet he re-signed with OKC.  If we trade for AD that means Kyrie is re-signing.  Where would AD go in 2020 that would be better than staying with the Celtics assuming that AD is being truthful that winning and legacy are his top priority?  The Lakers probably won't have the cap space to sign him in 2020 free agency and Lebron will be 2 years older even if they do.

Yes, that should be our maximum offer.

Ya those 4 guys don't quite get us there, Tatum, Yabu, Williams, MLE-Guy would get us to around 17.5. Keep in mind we need 21.6 to match salaries for AD, and the MLE guy would have a max salary next year  of around 4.6 because his salary would be 120% of the mid level we have this year. We could wait to sign the draft picks and then use the salary to match, if the Kings end up just missing the playoffs (14th pick at 2.85) and we add our pick (25th ish at 1.74) and that gets us there. But if we finish like  3rd in east, and Kings make it that tightens. And on top of that AD would need to waive his trade kicker because if he doesn't we have to match like 24.5.
