I believe Danny is driving up the price for the Lakers while his real goal is to give nothing and sign KD .

Not that I disagree with your initial post, but about your 2nd part, we can't just sign KD...  :-\

I do not think it's even possible to "sign" KD because of the cap. I believe they can only "trade" for a superstar which is AD. I am not sure I am on board with trading everything for a possible 1-year rental and hope we convince him to stay idea.

I would prefer to keep the current group together (Tatum, Brown, Smart etc.) under the assumption that everyone reaches their full potential.  Obviously we don't live in a perfect world, but I think it's fair to say that most of us would enjoy a title run with the current group as opposed to reshaping the core roster again.  Sentiment aside, we can't really determine whether or not it's worth giving up the assets until we see how Ainge fills in the rest of the roster.  Danny seemingly wins every trade and finds the perfect role players to thrive in Brad's system.

IF the price is Tatum, Smart, Horford, Williams, MEM pick for Davis, like has been reported, I may never watch the C’s again. That is just absolutely excessive.

I would give up Brown and see if I could get a third team involved to take Hayward.

Here’s what I’m thinking..

BOS gets: Anthony Davis & E’Twaun Moore
NOP gets: Jaylen Brown, Nicolas Batum, Malik Monk, Robert Williams, MEM pick, SAC pick
CHA gets: Gordon Hayward & Frank Jackson

I'd definitely keep Smart and try to keep Tatum. But if  I had to give them Tatum, I'd keep Brown.

If NO will take it, this offer should work financially:

Griz pick, 2019 Sac + Boston pick, future Boston pick, Tatum, Yabu, MLE guy, if needed Semi or RW3

For

Anthony Davis

That offer should total $22m+ which gets it done.

Let the Lakers overpay for Davis. Keep the team together.

That's what I'm hoping for.  They need to sign a player for the MLE for two seasons in the next few weeks though.  They might not want to pay the tax on that.  If it does happen, we'll know what the plan is.

Have you seen AD play ?????????????????????

Have you seen the pelicans win? Cause I haven't since Rondo and Cousins were there.

There are several different trade scenarios that could work from using any of Horford, Hayward, Smart, Tatum, Brown, if we sign a MLE player, smaller pieces like Yabu and Williams any assortment of picks, 3 team deals, just taking back Davis, taking back Davis and Holiday, Davis and unwanted salary, even S&T with Rozier as a separate transaction taking back unwanted salary.  It’s so hard to speculate right now. Lol

What we do know is in the big trades for KG, Ray, trading away KG and Pierce, and Irving trade Ainge has come out of it the clear winner in the end.

The Knicks potential offer of the 1st or 2nd pick, Smith (excellent prospect), Knox, Dallas picks is a little worrisome.

while there is no guarantee in winning anything no matter what we do, one thing fans(esp. this fan base) overlook and forget is it's danny's responsibility to put this organization in the best position to win. getting 2 players the caliber of kyrie  & davis does that.

the mistake most fans(esp. this fan base) make with young players is they believe they're almost a guarantee to bring a dynasty. remember how sore you all were when we traded Al Jefferson?

putting the acquisition of AD aside, the truth is this organization absolutely needs to do everything it can to keep a player like kyrie because it does not bode well for this team if it can't.

what I mean by that is I personally believe there's maybe 3-4 teams that all these "superstars" want to play for and we're really not one of them.

so in a league where some teams(like us) only chance of landing a "superstar" is if they draft one and we actually have one we must do everything we can to keep him.

Because AD is a top 5 player in the league and we would be able to offer him more money in free agency

?? Cousins was injured and missed the second half of last season. Pretty sure the Pelicans have won since then.
