What a wild turn this franchise would take if Kyrie left and AD did not come.

It would then be the young guys team for sure...esp if they added 3 more high level rookies in this year's draft. And Gordon. Can't forget Hayward.

I think the plan would have to be to go super young plus Hayward and then hope Hayward can shine as the lead playmaker and secondary scorer (behind Tatum) next year.  Then maybe shop Hayward at the deadline in 2020.

don't forget a treasure of 1st round picks

I think also the Celts can get Beal

Yeah, but why bother with Beal, who is at best a top 30 NBA player, if the Celtics don't have a top 10 player?

I would just go with Tatum and Brown plus all the picks etc and hope Tatum turns into Paul George.

Plan with all that youth would be to wait out the Warriors and James. By the time Boston was older...those teams might be long gone...would be interesting for sure.

I honestly would resign some pieces (Mook, Rozier), use those three picks and go. Wouldn't trade them for fringe guys like Beal. Build within.

If kyrie walks and davis doesn't come, you blow it up and roll with the draft picks then hope for the best through every free agency

I mean ... getting to watch a top 10 player every night is way more interesting, but "Build Around Tatum and Youth" is not the worst Plan B.

I'm pretty confident Tatum is gonna be an All-Star for a long time.  But I also doubt he'll ever be the kind of guy that can win a playoff series on his own.

I think you are underestimating Beal

who is on the level of Thompson

really good shooter

Also doesn't hurt that he and Tatum are  really close

I think Beal is a good player, but he's already 25 years old and has a history of injuries.  I think he'd be a great #2 on a contender, but without a clear cut #1 I dont' see the point of pairing him with a bunch of 21 year olds.

Oh I agree 100 percent. Tatum would be the face. Hope Hayward can come back to form. Hope Brown is more comfortable and rebounds and then you would prolly have to keep Rozier as your starting pg.

again the million dollar question is.... who leaked this out

Rich Paul, because he needs New Orleans to believe that Boston will not put Tatum or Brown on the table.  The Lakers cannot win a bidding war in the summer with these assets.  If New Orleans waits till the summer, he almost certainly does not become a Laker.  Lebron needs a trade now, otherwise there's no AD.  This is pretty obvious.

Rich Paul leaks this and what Haynes nods his head and says thank you....let me share?

I can't see Haynes being that naive

Though if it came from Lebron (who recently spoke to Irving).... then I may worry a tad

That's exactly how this works, though. You play ball with agents so that they leak things to you later and you get to break news. That's how the game works.

and if it doesn't happen and Irving resign...stating it was his intention all along??

Haynes rep takes a little nosedive

You say whatever you need to say to convince yourself this is right. I promise you this Haynes' track record isn't 100% correct and you are only citing the times he was right because you didn't pay attention when he was wrong.  This whole story and timing of it is a massive overreach.

When Kyrie said he'd resign I thought it was great because even if he didn't wind up resigning in the end it would keep it from being a cloud over the team this season. Looks like that might be out the window too.

Who else is excited for long-term starting PG Terry Rozier??

I think Irving felt embarrassed by the way the media portrayed that conversation with Lebron....and ultimately talking too much vs leading , while also taking a shot at the young guys...though he may have not meant it like that

I think he was on TNT,  First Take etc as guests before...... yet these guys (Smith, Barkley etc.) all took shots at him

I'am also not sure about how he feels about CBS and his coaching method

Beal is probably top 20. He is only 25 and without Wall clunking it up, he has been averaging 27-6-6 for basically two months now and having the wizards play .500 ball with pretty poor talent around him.

Lol come on, people. This “leaks” the same day that Davis requests a trade from NOLA. Do you really think there’s not an ulterior motive here? This has Rich Paul all over it.

Good grief.

Do you think all these guys get sources for nothing? lol They all play the game and this Kyrie story is all fodder. He may not resign but to make it sound like it’s a done deal he won’t today the same day AD requests a trade is pure trash reporting.

Rich Paul is a little snake. I wonder how Kyrie likes being named dropped like this.
