The effect of carrying Hayward

The team is trying to play like it isn't the problem but it is.I can'even watch .It's called deferring to the all star who is unable to hit threes ,make layups and would repetitively drive and kick.
As much as we all understand, what has to be gone through.
The teams knows
Brad knows,
Ainge knows.

Hayward costs points, ruins timing.It is the way it is and nobody is going to sabotage Hayward's comeback and confidence.NOT BRAD
How many points a game has Hayward cost ,how many drive and kick outs are because he has no lift or confidence getting hit up in the air.How many wide open threes, air balled floaters, missed layups

Hayward is an obsolete bust at this point for the Celtics.  He is coming off the bench and he should at this point.  He is a shell of his former self after his injury.  I am hoping he will regain his form and start to hep this team towards the second half of this season on its quest for a championship.  I am not certain that will happen.  He doesn’t fit into the 3 point shooting system as well as I thought he would.  He looks like a mid range shooter when I watch him play.  His 3point range looks off to me.  His defense has yet to prove anything special either.  I am hopeful that this all gets turned around as the season progresses.

What is obsolete about him?

He’s white, therefore unathletic. This isn’t the 50’s and 60’s NBA.

Is he going to stay that color?

The long term effect today was really positive.

Hayward looks huge and explosive tonight.

With his great game tonight, his percentages don’t look so awful, he’s now at 42/33/88.

He’s clearly getting better each game, especially his shooting and decision-making.

For a guy who went through an injury like that and missed so much time, it’s impressive that he’s averaging a career-high in rebounds and steals per 36 and second-most in assists per 36. He’s not as timid as many believe, and he’s only averaging 2.0 turnover per 36.

Once his shot starts falling and he’s able to attack and finish with authority, watch out.

I think he’s still around 80-85%, both physically and mentally. Another month and I think he’s going to resemble the All-Star we recruited. And who knows, maybe elite teammates and Brad will make him even better than he was in Utah.

I am very happy to see Hayward have a great game.  His benching was needed because the team was playing so poorly with him in the stating lineup.  The toughness that Morris and Smart bring to the starting group has helped the team get off to better starts.  The Smart, Kyrie combination is a much better fit than Brown because Smart is a play maker and doesn’t need to score.  Kyrie can handle that part.  I hope Haywards progress continues because his great play will be needed for the Celtics to achieve in the post season.  Perhaps Hayward will turn this around and be the free agent we expected when we signed him after all.  I would say he won’t be as good as he was last night but he will certainly be better than he has been moving forward.  Go Celtics!!!!!

And we still have it in the current climate of the NBA with guys like Lou Williams and Tyreke Evans. Lou Williams was nearly an all-star last year coming off the bench averaging 20 ppg and being the primary option. I'm for it if there's not a substantial amount of hurt to his ego that interferes with his abilities/effort. He doesn't appear to be that kind of guy.

Definitely something that could be possible, and Hayward would be a great leader of our bench with his playmaking and scoring. Btw I'd like to correct Knuckle, relatively few people were calling for that, the majority were Top Greens who were screaming "WE CAN'T BENCH OUR MAX PLAYERS".

this game was big for Hayward to get his confidence back.  Hopefully this is the start of the return of All-star Hayward.

I'm sure there will be set back games, but this was a big step in the right direction. Now he knows it's a matter getting 100% healthy.

I think by the time the playoffs roll around the Kyrie, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Horford lineup will be this team's starting lineup as this team holds the highest upside potential as a lineup and will finally be clicking.

But for now, Hayward and Brown coming off the bench is good.

I actually think our best 5 is going to be Morris-Hayward-Horford-Irving-Tatum. Morris has really cut down on his isoMo stuff and is playing a lot more team ball this season. I like him more than Brown, at least for the foreseeable future, because he can do more of the dirty work and provides us with greater interior defense and rebounding. Plus, going big will mean that a 2 Guard will be matched up against either Hayward or Tatum. For example, imagine how bad we can exploit someone like Redick in a series using that quintet.
