LeBron James vs Kyrie Irving NBA Finals. That'll be the end game.

Sucks though how Boston spent years rebuilding their team while the Lakers just suddenly became an instant contender by adding one free agent player to their team after years of sufferage and mediocrity.

Contender, yes, but let's wait and see what else the Lakers do. Right now, they have no shot at getting past GS or Houston in the playoffs.

I feel the same way. Let's wait a bit before reaching conclusions.

LOL at your signature - TP ;D.

At this point I would anticipate that the Lakers will go after Avery Bradley :'( and Dwight Howard. Add in the fact that KCP has just re-upped for one year and you're potentially looking at a lineup of:

Center: Dwight Howard
Power Forward: Kyle Kuzma
Small Forward: Lebron James
Shooting Guard: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (don't Laker fans hate this guy, lol ;D?)
Point Guard: Avery Bradley

Sixth Man: Brandon Ingram

Uh oh :o.

You think Lebron came to LA to have Dwight be his best teammate?

Lol, no ;D. It's just that Howard has consistently exploited Golden State's lack of rebounding, plus, he's probably an excellent fit with Lebron as James isn't exactly going to be throwing it inside to Dwight, for example, so, unfortunately, I could definitely see that tandem working.

Plus, there are members of LA's front office who still like Howard. I think.

Something a lot of people are overlooking.

The Sixers have already lost Belinelli and Illyasova. Two of their better "pure shooters" last season and two perimeter threats. They also still run the risk of losing Reddick still.

Those are some underrated losses there especially if PHI strikes out completely on max-FA's and star trade targets. Still think they keep Reddick and sign someone like Evans or Bradley, but yeah, the point still stands.

If they are smart they'll just roll over their cap space until next season. The East is green they will stop it now!

I thought I read somewhere that, with some salary raises and such, the Sixers won't have max cap space next year even if they do nothing now (same case as us last year, where we added Hayward)

this is the last year embiid will be cheap. starting in 2109 he makes $25 million and that goes up  about $2  million each year for 4 years. simmons follows not long after that.

At the very least, it didn't help their cause at all. Lebron had to be thinking, I don't want to play with a clown like that.

I can’t fathom LeBron being ok with wasting a year surrounded by a bunch of young players. Magic will crumble eventually, just depends on if SA cares enough to send him to a conference rival or not. I think they will though if they just hold tight.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I liked it better when LAL was giving huge contracts to guys like Deng and Mozgov. It's not really 'fair' that they are able to sign the best player on the planet for just cap space, but I guess those are the breaks.

This should give the Cs a pretty easy path to the Finals, but we also need to stay healthy. We already lost a great opportunity this year; hopefully the bball gods will be good to us in 2018-19. All I really hope is that LAL doesn't win another championship before us. We need to remain at the top.
