Yeah, the oddsmakers must think Kawhi is already going LAL.

Otherwise, there's NO reason, even with Lebron, the Lakers should currently be considered 2nd-best odds to win the title, tied with Boston and ahead of Houston too.

embiid's tweet looks kinda silly now. Philly is so screwed with that guy as there face.

At the very least, it didn't help their cause at all. Lebron had to be thinking, I don't want to play with a clown like that.
whatd he say?

He Tweeted that the Lakers would always be Magic and Kobe's team.

at this moment I think its great.

Lakers are still bad enough that they wont make it out of the west unless they make some more major moves.

and Lebron is out of the east. Celtics are now the clear favorite.

No srprize many of us called it long ago.   Lebron want to earn most money possible , with all the business deals awaiting him in the big market .   Lakers is one of the few teams that will step away and suck up to,Lebron , let him play GM , Coach and player...all at once.

Rockets GM and Coach too strick, wanting to keep control of the team.

Bron went where he could maintain control with a bunch of butt kissers

Lebron has to have everybody under his control and plan.    Lakers will do anything he asks .

Everything seems to be falling Danny's way.
This makes us more likely to have a great Sacramento pick as well.

Lakers right now are a Top-4 team in the West (definitely playoff team).

They are NOT better than Houston or Golden State though as of now. If they add Kawhi and don't gut the team, then maybe they are better than Houston.

That's how I see it now

I think the Lakers are back in the playoff mix, but definitely don't think they're top 4 yet. GSW, Houston, Utah, and OKC are ahead of them right now.

One thing's for sure, the West is brutal. I think at some point a realignment of the conferences will happen, particularly if they ever get expansion teams in Seattle or Las Vegas.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Congrats to him, LA and MAGIC.

My love and appreciation for Magic has grown over the years and I'm happy to see that he was instrumental in drawing LeBron James to LA.

I hope he is in the stands - along with Jack Nicholson, Will Smith, etc, etc, etc - as BOS continues its dominance of LA.

The rivalry is BACK and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!!!!

No clotheslining this time, though - BOS. Try to keep it clean.

I'll be so happy when LeBron retires.

Feel bad for CLE but what can they say?

He brought them their only championship - in ANY sports in quite a while.

As for his new journey? He and GSW can now beat themselves silly for the next few years - grinding each other into meat for 5 or 6 games in the regular season AND hopefully 6 or 7 games in the post-season.

BOS should be there at the end to pick off whatever remains are left from such intra-conference combat.

Let em beat themselves silly, Lakers-GSW-HOU.

Surprised this happened. Maybe David Aldridge wearing a purple blazer/tie and gold shirt earlier tonite on NBA network was a tip-off. He's an LA guy, and doesn't hide his preferences.

4 years? James has a lot of confidence he can play that long. I doubt he can dominate for 40 minutes a game for much longer.

I understand Danny Ainge broke out a bottle of champagne when he heard the news. This makes the East a lot easier, though a healthy Leonard in Philly will put the Sixers in the thick of it. Ainge has the pieces to intercede, if he wants to. Doubt the Spurs will deal Leonard in the west. Don't think the Lakers have the cap space after signing Pope.

I think the Lakers will need a lot more than James to contend the Warriors and even the Rockets. And they'll now have to worry about chemistry--how the pieces fit around James. Everybody else around the King tends to become a pawn on a chessboard.

At least I'm happy for Jack Nicholson.

If Kawhi ended up in Philly and LeBron had to waste the season with that Laker roster... wow.

Because he is where his family wants to be long term- home- this is his last team unless they trade him a la Pierce to Nets in a few years for another boat load of picks!
