Wow, so KCP now reups with LAL for $12M, meaning most likely no other big free agents. They must have a Kawhi trade in the works already.

That seems like a reach to me.  I have never been all that impressed with Caldwell-Pope.  Why spend that money on him?

Gotta expect Kawhi trade will be coming soon. Not sure Philly will gamble on him now.

Leonard will not stay with any team he is traded to unless it is LA.

Boston needs to resign Smart and find one more shooter off the bench

Easily tradeable salary later in the year if SAS comes down on their price for Kawhi.

BTW, I do applaud LeBron for not dragging this thing out this time.  He is evolving.

LeBron James vs Kyrie Irving NBA Finals. That'll be the end game.

Sucks though how Boston spent years rebuilding their team while the Lakers just suddenly became an instant contender by adding one free agent player to their team after years of sufferage and mediocrity.

Contender, yes, but let's wait and see what else the Lakers do. Right now, they have no shot at getting past GS or Houston in the playoffs.

I feel the same way. Let's wait a bit before reaching conclusions.

LOL at your signature - TP ;D.

At this point I would anticipate that the Lakers will go after Avery Bradley :'( and Dwight Howard. Add in the fact that KCP has just re-upped for one year and you're potentially looking at a lineup of:

Center: Dwight Howard
Power Forward: Kyle Kuzma
Small Forward: Lebron James
Shooting Guard: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (don't Laker fans hate this guy, lol ;D?)
Point Guard: Avery Bradley

Sixth Man: Brandon Ingram

Uh oh :o.

You think Lebron came to LA to have Dwight be his best teammate?

Any early guesses on Christmas Day games?

Before I was thinking Philly/Boston and GS/Houston (but that's when I thought LeBron was headed to Philly or Houston).

So now maybe LA/Boston and still GS/Houston?

You know LeBron's going to be in one of the 2 prime Christmas Day game spots, the question is against who.  He may have just bumped Philly from one of those prime spots.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

So what does LA give up for Kawhi? With LeBron already in the fold the Spurs lost some leverage.

Lots of folks said that about George and OKC, and that's OKC...small market, not great talent compared to us, coaching staff not comparable to ours and a front office that compared to ours has seen better days.

Kawhi could like it here. Not sure I'd take the chance on him because of his injury and his holdout in SA.

Let Kawhi be someone else's problem. Let's resign Smart and bring this team back.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be some combination of Boston, LAL, and GSW. I think they will try hard to promote the Boston/LAL rivalry as soon as possible, so we might get the nod there. Opening night is also a possibility.

Opening night will surely be Los Angeles Lakers @ Golden State Warriors. Boston will probably visit Philadelphia for the early TNT header as well.

As for XMAS games...I think either Warriors @ Lakers, or Celtics @ Lakers.

Lakers still need a center... thought Cousins would make sense until KCP signing.  Wonder what LAL's plan is.

Signing Avery Bradley, like Beat LA said, to a 4 year $72M deal (or whatever they can offer him) would make a lot of sense if they had a good feeling about using KCP as the salary to trade for another star like Kawhi or whoever.  He'd be an elite fit with Lonzo, LBJ, and another star wing.
