It was a mixed bag. On the one hand they got the best free agent to switch teams out there in Gordon Hayward, who with Millsap/Butler/George/Maybe Mello all leaving the conference is pretty much a guaranteed allstar and 20+ppg player. On the other hand the traded away the almost universally touted #1 in Fultz for a still good, but not as highly rate player Tatum and a pick that may very well not convey until 2019. They also paid more for Irving than other stars went for, although you could argue that his immense shot creation ability combined with his age and upside makes that still a good deal. Like any offseason we wont know for a couple years. If Tatum turns out as good or better than Fultz, if the LA pick falls 2-5 and we get a stud big, if Irving makes a Harden/Curry leap into elite offensive weapon, if Hayward has another gear this offseason may be a straight A+. But as it stands we still aren't beating the warriors, we wont be favored vs the Cavs (tho I think theres a shot, unlike this past year), and we traded our best future asset. I give it a B.
