BOOOOOHOOOOO

DANNY WANTS TO WIN

BOOOOHOOOOO

If your sibling dies, you heroically return to work the same day, and get canned 2 months later (despite incredible success), please come post here.  I'd be happy to "boohoo" you, loser.

... I would!  If the Celtics traded for me when I was a backup, helped me to develop, and gave me the playing time to showcase my skills so that I could potentially increase my salary by 7 times in my next contract, then I'd love to play for an organization like that!!  And if they traded me, I'd only hope that they would trade me to a contender.

This too!    IT has nothing but love for Boston, It changed his career.  He said it.   Hes sad that Danny has to look out for the cap and wants to play his #3 picks.....

Guys, maybe he's right.  I mean, what good payers have signed here since Danny proved he really would trade anyone by trading KG and Pierce? That's right, NONE (Horford, Hayward, etc. don't count).  All of our $0 of cap space is going to waste next year because DANNY decided to be a jerk to IT for NO REASON!

Being traded to Cleveland =/= being fired

I mean, maybe in the NFL it is because you have to play for the Browns, but being traded to a team that has made 3 straight finals is not the same.

They signed because of IT.

They signed because we're a team on the rise with a great coach, a good roster, and great potential to improve. IT was certainly a big part of the team success over that stretch, and played a big role in those two signing here, but there's no evidence that says that he was the reason, or that they wouldn't have signed here if, instead of IT, we had a different player that led to similar success.

If we had traded IT for future picks, or a player that they hate, I would 100% agree that those guys had reason to be mad. But we didn't, traded him for a well-liked player that is on a similar level (probably a better player, but IT had a better year last year, so we'll see)

Ainge is a ****, but he always has been.  And he was able to sign Hayward and Horford.  Oh wait, that was 95% because of IT, who he then took a dump on.

I wish there was a way to calculate the difference in CB site traffic before and during IT's tenure.  I'd guess there would be a 30%+ difference.

You realize IT had a bad reputation in PhX and SAC, right?

Oh, and Kyrie is kind of a big deal. He might attract some talent himself

lol Jesus Christ people have such an obsession w the midget

...when you trade your best player who led your team to the #1 seed playing through injury, playing through grief, bleeding green, producing at a historic level, and also willing to take LESS money....all for nothing but to get traded to your rival team that you still aren't close to beating. SMH

Kyrie doesn't extend here.

Horford and Hayward know now not to get houses here they could be out the door for Davis or whoever is the next supposed upgrade.

Our young rookies will hold their breath every season until the trade deadline passes...no one is safe.

Oh AND we gave up a blue chip pick.

AND we have no bench.

It will be sad sad sad day when all we have to show for all of this player turnover is two 2nd round playoff exits. :-\

Please don't say "we" when talking about Celtic fans because you don't sound like one.  Also, here's a quote from Woj about Irving and the Celtics.  "Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Irving is "thrilled" to join the Celtics, and the team will have a "great chance" to re-sign him."

We have chance to be in the finals for years to come. In a few short years, and with a little luck we'll have a special team.

IT was a special scoring talent that had a great 2017 season. Because of his defensive deficiencies, due to his size, and when you speak about a player that can lead you to a title, he was fools gold.

As to the OP's subject question...If you build a winning team...they will come,

When did IT state that he would take less money? You should be thrilled that you have a GM that is not swayed by emotions, but the crude bottom line. Danny is doing the best for the team. That is his job.

I'm pretty sure Stevens was the big reason. IT's big eye emojis and clovers don't really get guys to commit.

We also haven't been in any of the rooms that DA and IT have discuses new contract. IT could have been hinting at a 5 year deal, and I'm sure most CBer's wouldn't want that. You see most people wanting 3 year, 4th team option, cause little guys go down hill fast after 30, and then you add an injury that is taking forever to heal, signs aren't good.

Last year IT was talking about playing for LA around the same time PG13 was talking. A TON of people wanted DA to make a move to get some thing for him and sell high. And guess what DA did, and now people are complaining.  We don't know how much truth there is to that, but maybe it was true and some word got to DA about it.

I loved IT and what he did last year. But the move for Irving sets up nicely for the next 8 to 10 years. I feel bad for him, because he did try to do things to help the team off court. But you rarely hear players say they came here to play with IT. It's more about the team, the make up and Stevens.

Horfod came here because Stevens laid it out nicely, and pitched the idea of playing with KD. Hayward came here because Stevens laid it out an showed him how he'd fit in the system. And Irving waved his traded kicker to come here because he saw how the C's ran their offense fist hand and wanted to play in that system. That too is Stevens. IT was a nice cheerleader for the team, but don't say he was 95% of the reason players came here.

Seems like an odd perspective from the OP, on the day that the Kyrie deal gets finalized and the team is moving forward as possibly the consensus #1 seed in the East along with a boatload of young talent.  Have a nice day...

Isaiah has a better chance to win a chip this coming year with the cavs than than C's. Danny rarely puts players in bad positions through trades, this is a plus when it comes to playing for this organization.
