Apparently, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com is reporting that the Cavs are so far denying the extra asset request and are still reviewing their options.

The cavs will need to accept it. We already spoke with kyrie.. Idk the rules but I believe kyrie is currently a member of the Celtics until the trade gets voided. Hope someone on the Celtics talks him into leaking his desire to only play for us

Irving is a member of the Cavs until the trade is completed which won't occur until the Cavs accept IT's physical.  Apparently it needs to be done by Wednesday unless both teams agree to an extension.

The trade saved them about 20M in tax but they are still well over the luxury tax line.

Me too. The Cavs can pound sand. Everyone in the world knew about IT's injury, so there was no way Ainge could hide the truth, even if he wanted to. Cavs are just being jerks.
