Well that is a bit sad. I guess Avery made a better choice than Crowder because Crowder is under contract for a few more years. Help balance the books with quality depth moving forward.

I hope Jaylen or Smart starts at SG next year. Let Hayward stay at SF.

Use Crowder as a 6th man.

Avery Bradley = terrific two way player who improves every season

Marcus Morris = undersized medicore PF who doesn't rebound or defend well for his position

nice trade, Danny....

Avery = pending free agent with injury concerns at a deep position

Morris = on a bargain contract; has missed six games total the past four seasons

I'll miss AB, but something like this had to happen.

Morris is a good fit as a PF who can hit 3's in Brads system.

I hope so. He regressed last year in Detroit to 33% on 4.5 attempts/game. Yuck.

And his rebounding is poor. His TRB is way below Amir or Al - 8.9% last year.  (Yes, you read that right, and it's not an aberration.)

Hope Brad can unlock something, but on paper he looks like a rotation player who shouldn't crack the starting rotation on a playoff team.
He's not a great rebounder and he's not a good player really, but the rebounding rate is a tad misleading.

Amir was competing for rebounds with Kelly Olynyk and Al Horford. Morris was competing with Andre Drummond. Morris isn't a good rebounder at all but he's less pitiful than his numbers suggest.

Does this move mean that Jamal Crawford is coming to Boston?

don't think so...we are all set at the 1-3 spots.

IT, GH, JC, Smart, Roz, Jay and Jason

This wasn't necessarily a trade for talent  (see salary situations).

True, but the eval of MM seems spot on. I am trusting in Danny to have another trade or FA pickup in the works, because otherwise we're going to be really, really, really thin on bigs. Bringing Gordon Hayward in is a waste if we fall apart down low.  Because, Cleveland...

would have lost him anyway ,  he deserved to get paid well .

Danny see s Crowder netting more back than Avery in the future .

Maybe Crowder is part of a deal for Marc Gasol , Love , or a nice Big in the future ......no Aldridge please.....

Bummed.  Hate to see Bradley go. Morris doesn't excite me a whole lot.

Were there any picks involved?

What about when his TRB% wobbled between 9 and 10% when he played for Phoenix? The very peak for his career was 10.8 percent, while he was with Houston, and only 23.

Those are bad numbers, across several teams, and given his size he's not going to become a better rebounder as he ages. He's going to get worse.

Thank you Avery. Good luck and get paid.
Good player/contract in return.
I guess Jaylen will start at the 2 spot.

Jaylen at the 2, Morris probably starts at the 4.

Smart and Crowder anchor the second unit with Rozier and Tatum. Ideally zizic can be the second units center and maybe yabu comes over and him, Gerald green and maybe Ojele(sp) can bring up the end of the bench.

Smart needs to slim down and t-ro needs to take a leap defensively. AB covered all the quick ball handlers last year.

I wonder if there's some plan to play Hayward at the 2, Crowder at the 3, and Morris at the 4 alongside Horford.

Hmm, could be. I'd probably prefer Brown at the 2 with Hayward and Morris at the 3/4, respectively, but for "chemistry" reasons maybe we do go that route.

I like this deal better than most of the rumours I had seen previously.

We got a PF on the cheap for the next two years.

people forget Cavs , are busting the Cap to keep the four max type players .....they can 't keep doing that , paying the tax and not win titles ......something has to give ......they trade players or Lebron leaves .....leaving the Celtics in the drivers seat.

Morris played great against us when he subbed in for his brother in the playoffs vs. Washington, so this move makes sense.

Also, the real loser in this deal is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

I think Crowder will put a stink if he is benched.  I have a feeling Hayward will slide to the 2 for now.
