terry gone?

Rozier isn't a core player. Would rather see him gone than Crowder. Terry had some good playoff games and could be trade bait.

Even if we don't trade AB or Smart, we won't be able to keep all of Smart, AB, IT. All three are due big pay raises. Not all will be here this time next summer. Keeping Rozier on the roster now gives us a fallback option if we trade or lose one of those guys.

Utah is hoping to steal Crowder for nothing. I don't like that. I'd rather see Hayward and Horford take a haircut for the team.

  • That's turrible
Is there a possibility we lose Hayward completely if we can't give up one of these players? This is becoming irritating.

It looks like Ainge will wait into the signing/trading period before he signs Hayward. They will have an introductory press conference tomorrow, but he may not be signed for awhile until they get their cap space in order. Most likely done with through trades.

I don't like that sign and trade deal with Utah, unless they can get some value for Crowder.
Better to wait a few days for the right trade. Gain a bit of leverage.

Don't think so. Trading period opens tomorrow. Make a trade to clear space, then sign him. Doubt he's going anywhere else. Ainge has time to make a deal.

At this point, if Favors or Faried is out of the picture, why not call up Detroit and offer up Crowder for Marcus Morris? They'd assuredly do that deal, and when combined with cutting Jackson and Mickey, I believe that gives you enough to sign Hayward without giving up anything else. Morris would also be a pretty decent (and really cheap for the next two years) fit for us at the starting 4 spot, and if we end up hanging on to Bradley, too, then our roster is pretty much set with:

PG: IT, Rozier
SG: AB, Smart
SF: Hayward, Brown
PF: Morris, Tatum
C: Horford, Zizic

You add a couple of veteran minimum players and another bench big with our (room?) exception, and that's a really talented, athletic, and deep two-way team that should be a terror defensively and out in the fastbreak.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

and how would you expect him to do that?

Apparently, presser might be tomorrow

Hate everything about this.

Who is cutting his hair? Credentials? That was super important to him in Utah.

How can we introduce a guy when we don't have the cap space to sign him yet?

Bad juju all around.

So what's your guess on the trade negotiations? Ainge wanting to get some value back or GMs low balling him?

Ainge is in a tough spot. He lacks leverage. Other GMs know this and are trying to take advantage (as they should). At some point, someone will be willing to give up something acceptable. From a value standpoint, we will, undoubtedly, lose the trade. Ainge knows all this, so it's just a matter of time.

Danny and other GMs essentially playing chicken.  Ainge will likely hold out to last possible moment.
