I hate to say it, but if Fultz and Jackson are gone then draft Lonzo.

you are probably right talent wise in the long term.  But Big srong guy like Tatum is exactly what CBS wants who can step out on the perimeter.......this allows them to trade KO .......

With Tatum , Zizic and Yab .....these are cheaper than KO contract .

Ball , Fultz , Jackson all star pieces , but not in the next 3 years when Danny has to honor his commitments to IT , Horford and probably Hayward .

They already have Brown ......Tatum is the mobile big strong guy to replace what a skinny Sully could have been.     Three young guys to throw at Lebron and Green .

Tatum has some really polished skills offensively.  I can easily see someone betting on him improving his three point shooting.  If he did that he could be a top level scorer.

If we keep the pick that player has to be better than Fultz or it's a bust unless the Lakers/Sac pick turns out better than Fultz.

This is essentially why I think the pick will be traded.

But then if Fultz becomes a young all star the trade is a bust

I like this idea and Tatum at #5, not at #3.

I think he is deciding between Jackson and Tatum because he knows at least one of them will be there at #3.  If BOTH are there at #3, I would imagine he knows which of the two be prefers already.

Time to flip the #3 for the #4 or 5, and get more assets.  Just keeping flipping those picks until we are all flipped off.  ;D

Wait a minute. You're telling me you trade down but you don't have a target or a plan? I find that impossible to believe. If I'm the owner and Danny walks in my office and tells me this I call security and have him removed from the building with force and never come back again! I'm dead serious on this! This is a billion dollar business you better have a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing plan! :o

He may likely not be available... As phx may take him at 4

I still can't believe we are stuck with this lousy choice all because we basically game away the number one pick, and for what? Why?

Isaac is the pick , his upside is better than Jackson or Tatum

If true you trade down to 5/10.

But false.

I figure they can keep the pick, then swap the nets, lakers (2-5)or Sac '19 picks for a Butler.Or swap the pick with the lakers/sac  package. Either way Butler winds up costing less than $15M next year. High picks are expensive these days, and it's a crapshoot.

Im leaning towards Tatum... I think Celtics will as well

Reasons

-Tatum doesnt look like is 6'8 with 6'11 wingspan. More like 6'9 with 7'0 wingspan. 8'11-9'0 reach

-His ball handling skills is top notch for a forward

- FT shooting at 84 percent

- Celtics have seen him in LA already and he could have dazzled with improved 3 pt shooting. There is a recent youtube clip of him making 20 straight nba 3 pt shots. And his release looks quicker

- Defensively the effort is there. He contests jump shots out to the perimeter.  Steal numbers are pretty decent.  Can block and rebound. May not be an individual lockdown defender but should be more than competent team defender

- ACC tourney proved he can excel as a go to player, late in games

- Athletically he is similar to Otto Porter. Otto Porter played key minutes in the playoffs and was not a liability on the defensive end. And Tatum is more skilled on the offensive end

If they keep the pick he is taking Tatum. The only way he does not take Tatum if he is available is if he decides to trade the pick. IMO

I sure hope so...he's a way better prospect then Jackson and IMHO he's a better one then Ball too.

Balls conditioning issues at the Lakers workout concerns me too, after dealing with guys like sully and big baby...poor conditioning in a workout this important screams "poor work ethic"  to me.

I agree.

Tatum coukd be a special player.   He has Carmelo Anthony like offensive talent,  but he's more athletic.   Had the size and length to play both forward positions one he bulks up a bit.

Should be an all star.
