Absolutely not. KP is vastly overrated on this board. I'd much rather have Fultz.

I don't think KP is on the same level as AD or Towns.
I am hoping Fultz will be on that level.

I think Porzingis turns out better than Love.  He is still only 21 and has been playing in a bad situation.  I am not sure I do this trade exactly, I would probably ask for something more before pulling the trigger but I am OK in trading Fultz under this scenario.  The deal is probably John Wall for Kevin Love and the #8 at worst (age adjusted of course).  There is a discussion to be had here.

This isn't a realistic trade at all and probably not fair either.  I mean the Wolves traded an expiring contract for the #1, the prior #1, and a future 1st.  I get that Love had proven more than Porzingis had, but Love was older, more injury prone, and as indicated an expiring contract.  There is no way the Knicks trade the Zinger for 1 straight up, including 8 makes it a highway robbery.

But the prior #1 was complete trash. He himself was not as much a part of that trade as his salary was.

I voted no mainly because Markelle will be better.  Another reason is that I am generally opposed to "trading down" in the draft. There might be exceptions, but I believe most of the time the team who gets the better player "wins" the trade.

I'd do it.  I think Porzingis will ultimately be the better player of the two.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I don't think this trade is realistic. As long as we signed Hayward,  I would be willing to part with Crowder and Smart to get this done too, just for Porzingas and filler.

The question is whether we want to try to compete in this window or just load up for 5 years from now. To compete, the only way is to get a big that causes problems for GS and Cleveland.

Blake Griffin might do it if he stays healthy. There are only a handful of other guys in the league who fit the bill, and Porzingas might be the only one of those we could get, even by overpaying.

It looks to me that we get Griffin, land Porzingas in a trade, or wait several years. Can anyone come up with an alternative? Remember, it has to be someone Draymond Green can't handle.

2018 draft has 3 centers right at or near the top.  Hopefully Brooklyn is awful again allowing Boston to land 1 of those 3.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

2018 Brooklyn, Crowder (because the Knicks covet him) and another first for Porzingas?  Draft Fultz, sign Haywood.

Ball handlers: IT Rozier Fultz
Wings: Bradley, Hayward, Smart, Brown.
Swings: JJ, Yabusele, pick 37 (Ojeleye?)
Bigs: Horford, KP, Zizic, Vet pickup (Withey?)

Still would be good to trade from our depth at guard and wing for another swing or big.

Knicks would not trade Zinger for 1, and you want to insult them by adding in the 8?

Dream on.
This presumes that the Knicks GM and owner are rational actors.  They are not.

I'm hopeful we land an elite big in 2018 as well. But that will take a few years to evolve into a solution.

Worth a try, but I don't see it being enough

Add Rozier or Smart?  That's an overpay I think, but we're so deep in those positions that I'd be willing to overpay.

What's with the obsession of trade proposals involving fultz? We haven't even seen what he's capable of, and most analysts think he has superstar potential..

KP is a nice player but he is slow and not very athletic. IMO you don't trade a talent that could be a superstar for a guy that hopes to make some all star games.
