Wizards backed it up at least. Celtics fail.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
So did they purposely dress in all black or was it just a few guys who wore black?

I only saw shots of 3 players and Avery said it wasn't planned (although he laughed when asked about it).

Is this guy just making something out of nothing on twitter?

seems weird that the C's would do that seeing as IT's sister just passed.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Now look how dumb they look. This was such a dumb move that made no sense whatsoever. And it's so characteristic of the character of this team for it to go down like this.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Even the announcers wore black I think. Disgraceful if true. Even Wall eluded to it.

Even Tommy think it is stupid

Maybe Tommy doesn't understand black culture in the year 2017. Maybe the team already knows when they are in DC it's them vs the world and they actually WANT the crowd to be hostile. Maybe the team knows they fell into a pattern they really want to break out of. Maybe they want to win one on the road and don't want to go home as losers.

Maybe by attacking the other team like this they take the focus of the other team off basketball.

I don't see this as the same as when the Celts showed up at the finals and there were balloons in the rafters. And actually even if there had not been balloons in the rafters I think they would have won anyway.
And when half your team goes out and plays like crap in a deciding game you look like a bunch of idiots

Are you related to Steve Kuberski? That scoring wunderkind
The real #33 - forget Bird.

Pretty much. Washington did this to us during the regular season (and ran us out of the building). This is the playoffs. We should be focused on competing in a building we've lost in all year. Leave the theatrics at home.

This team likes the smell of its own.... nevermind. No profanity here.

Yep. I want the C's to advance and give the Cavs a great series, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not ready for this particular iteration of the Celtics to move on.

This entitled attitude that they constantly have anymore is just more than I can bear sometimes, especially since they didn't really earn it.

So much for having some class.

Disappointing, but I'm old school I guess.

Class?

Old school to me means nasty rivalries and posturing just like this. I can see the Bird-era Celtics having a back-and-forth symbol contest like this against the Sixers or Pistons or Lakers. Trolling isn't new.

Bird or Cowens or Russell would NEVER pull an idiotic stunt like this
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

OMG....... black culture ?

Are you kidding me ? A huge part of the destruction of Black America is their supposed "culture." ........ where criminals are celebrated and doing well in school and having some character is seen as weak.

I think people are overreacting.  If we did this and got blown out, sure, we'd look dumb. But we just played the best of any road team in this series and were 7 seconds from winning. Our top 3 all brought it tonight.  Too bad we lost and yeah maybe it was dumb but if that helped get them in the right mindset for how they played tonight then so be it.

Just bring it again in game 7 and win and no one remembers or cares that we wore all black and lost tonight.

I just hope it doesn't come back to bite them in the arse. I hated it when the Knicks and Wizards did it and still is stupid when the Cs do it.

It did bite them back in the arse, unfortunately. But we'll take care of business in game 7.
