I just hope it doesn't come back to bite them in the arse. I hated it when the Knicks and Wizards did it and still is stupid when the Cs do it.

this is good news to me. i was afraid that the celtics were gonna play uninspired basketball being that it's an elimination game for the Wiz. i thought they would fold under the urgency that washington will be playing with.

this is bold. especially since they havent beaten washington on the road for the entire season. i love it, and hope they can back it up with intensity of their own.

but being that this postseason started with a tragic death, im surprised they all decided to run with this.

This was exactly my though too. At least this means they will bring it tonight. I was legitimately worried we would throw away game 6 with lack of effort. Not anymore.

Only down 5....defensive struggle… Our type of game. If this keeps up we will win.

trying to feel good BETWEEN games is always a dumb idea.  The idea is to feel good DURING  the game.  Not only that is breaks all the rules of sports psychology as far as motivating the other team.  It is absolutely dumb strategy.  And if the Celtics win the win would be just as sweet without it....so not a fan.

it's basically the same as guaranteeing a win....last time was Pierce against Miami..  Look what a motivated Lebron did to the Celtics after that...greatest game of his career.

Same last year when Klay Thompson decided to trash talk Lebron...Lebron then went into hyper drive and wrecked the warriors...

Even Tommy think it is stupid

Maybe Tommy doesn't understand black culture in the year 2017. Maybe the team already knows when they are in DC it's them vs the world and they actually WANT the crowd to be hostile. Maybe the team knows they fell into a pattern they really want to break out of. Maybe they want to win one on the road and don't want to go home as losers.

Maybe by attacking the other team like this they take the focus of the other team off basketball.

I don't see this as the same as when the Celts showed up at the finals and there were balloons in the rafters. And actually even if there had not been balloons in the rafters I think they would have won anyway.

Yes, exactly. It also seems way out of character for this team. I've got an uneasy feeling about it.

It used to be that all that was required was for the Cs to show up in the customary green and play hard. That was scary enough and meant the other, luckless team was doomed.

But, different times sometimes call for different measures. We'll see. Let's hope for the best. And, if they win tonight, maybe go back to black in the next series.

I dont know, its stupid but i kind of like it.  Basketball is such an emotional sport and calling a road win should give a lot of confidence.

And when half your team goes out and plays like crap in a deciding game you look like a bunch of idiots

If it makes you feel better it's not a deciding game tonight
