A little surprising, but given that the ancient Joe Johnson is probably the second most potent offensive force on that team, I'm sure the Warriors focused on Hayward and really held him in check. (I didn't watch the game.)
I watched some. For the large majority of the first half, Hayward seemed to trot directly into a corner and stand there for the entire possession with his hands on his waist. It happened more than once or twice.
For a guy that's billed as a max player because he's the leader and top scorer on a playoff team, this was boggling, inexplicable, and largely inexcusable.
TP, koz. Thanks.
Always good to get input from someone with actual eyes on the game.
That sounds really out of character for Hayward who usually is a pretty dynamic, always moving without the ball type player, AND, he often has the ball in his hands. Weird.
Maybe he's sick or hurt.....hopefully this isn't him pouting or prima donna-ing around. One thread on the Jazz RealGM board asked why Hayward was deferring to Johnson so much in the Clippers series.
Maybe he's a better second banana than a first.
