Just throwing this idea out there but if the Celtics and Jazz did a sign and trade using AB and cap space, can the Celtics keep KOs cap hold?

Yes, but they can keep it if they send AB to another team for future picks, as well.

I think if Hayward went to Utah and said he wanted to go to Boston, Utah would be smart to do a sign and trade. They could Build around Exum and Gobert. They'd be bad for a couple years, but give them our pick next year, and memphis pick along with Young and AB.

In a sign and trade couldn't the Cs also include Zeller and his 8m non guaranteed contract to provide Utah with the ability to get cap relief.

Why would we trade them our pick for next year? The only reason we would need to move anyone would be to clear cap space. No need to send them a pick when he already wants to come here.

Under new CBA only guaranteed salary counts towards trade values.  Pretty sure it applies immediately regardless of when the non guaranteed contract was executed.  Wouldn't really matter in a sign and trade for Hayward anyway as the Celtics could take more salary than sending out.

It's pretty obvious to me that once Gordon didn't make the cut for super max, the writing was on the wall and he would leave Utah.

I fully expect to see him in a C's uniform next season. The Celtics have no reason to trade for him given they can sign him outright.

I do expect Avery Bradley to be the piece that falls...in a trade of some nature. Not sure for whom but our gaping hole in the paint would be my hope. Maybe a sign and trade for Alex Len? I like this kid a lot.
