Listening to SiriusXM this morning (Isola and Scal), they were both pretty convinced that Hayward re-signs with Utah.

Have to say, that was a bummer to hear.

I was hoping to sign him in the summer.

Utah is a very good rising team, they can pay him the most, and he just built a house there and is pretty settled in the community. It now seems a bit silly to think he might leave..

it was a possibility I think if Utah had gotten blown out in the first round.  their trip to the second round will probably be more than enough for Hayward to believe the team has an improving future that he will figure prominently in.

Don't need him, don't want him, don't really care about where he goes.

Use the cap space to make sure the team no longer gets embarrassed by just about everyone's third string center.

Yeah, unfortunately that probably ends the chances of Hayward coming here.

The only silver lining of hope is knowing Horford went further than Boston last year, and yet got swept by the Cavaliers and he chose to leave.

Maybe if Warriors sweep Utah, Hayward has some second thoughts. I HIGHLY doubt it though.

Different situations for that ATL team and current Utah team.

It will be a bummer if we miss out but at least Utah has a strong history and a loyal fan base. There were rumors a while back that he was considering Miami which would be borderline unacceptable.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Should we re-open the Carmelo Anthony threads again? Absorbing him into our cap space is the main price we would have to pay. He could also play PF.

I have typed the name Hayward on this board so many times, I forgot he wasn't a Celtic.

What the heck does Brian Scalabrine know about Gordon Hayward's offseason intentions? I bet he would of said something similar about Durant last year.

Hayward will be in green next year just wait.

What are some realistic options to fill that role?

I strongly disagree that beating a Blake Griffin-less Clippers team changed Haywards chances of signing with us at all. It took everything the Jazz had to get by a decrepit , sad Clippers team. The Jazz will get swept by GS. Not much has changed.

Paul Millsap, Zach Randolph, even Greg Monroe. Heck, if you feel adventurous, push in the chips for Blake Griffin, but don't get another SG/SF just because you can.

Don't the Jazz have some green uniforms?

I think it's been noted in a few different places (most recently on Lowe's podcast last week) that Hayward was pretty p---ed at Utah's contract offers at one point.  This is the generally accepted biggest reason for why Horford left ATL so it's certainly a possibility the same happens with Hayward.

If you'd rather have Randolph or Monroe than Hayward then please PM your source. That's grade A stuff right there.
