The me first attitude is what helps IT push for the buckets we need. I said it before, he is a hero when the shots fall and villain when they don't but regardless that mind set he has is the reason for both. As Rozier said, He's our guy so we have to stand by him despite the mistakes. I'm for a 3 year extension at max $ even if we draft Fultz. I'm in on IT.
Well ya I think most here would be for a 3 year max for Isaiah only problem is that Isaiah would be a fool to accept that offer. He's going to have at least a few 4 year max offers from other teams and as a somewhat limited player he rightfully should be viewing this as his best opportunity to sigh his biggest contract possible and set up his family
for generations.
I feel like we fans often downplay about the difference of $10-15 million that he could get if he signed with a team willing to pay him his full market value when it's more money than the combined net worth of most of this board. Of course there are other mitigating factors like whether or not he would be able to replicate this kind of production on a worse team and harming his next contract, but at the end of day how could anyone be expected to leave $10+ million on the table?
Who knows where Danny is in his offer but I'm of the mindset that if IT and Danny can work out a mutually beneficial split where IT gets traded to a stable situation that will pay him his max value and we come away with a nice asset or two and space for Fultz and Smart to take off that'll be what puts an end to IT's time in Boston.
If not then IT, deficencies and all, will resign here and drag half of this board and the Boston media scene kicking and screaming to multiple deep playoff births while constantly threatening the scoring title. Keep IT or not I think we'll be we'll suited to remaining a monster for years to come. Whether or not that produces banner 18 remains to be seen.
