The NBA needs to do something to address this absurdity of ring chasing that we see every year that

Remember, plenty of aging vets ring chased with us in the Big 3 era. If players can clear waivers, they can sign where they want (with some exceptions).

Well define plenty... I remember PJ Brown was a big one. I remember marbury another year. I think we got an ineffective Troy Murphy another year. Did we ever get 2 in the same year (while get a third, Korver, in a salary dump)? This does seem a bit much. Not to mention their salary cap is way higher than the Celtics ever was right?

The quality has definitely gone up.

We got a lot of guys, many on their last legs. Sam Cassell, Mikki Moore, Michael Finley, Carlos Arroyo, and Sasha Pavlovic in addition to the guys you mentioned.

I wonder if Terrance Jones was a back up option for Bogut.

Lol at all the sour grapes in this thread. This was always the likeliest outcome but some deluded themselves into thinking he would sign here because he would have a "bigger role". You know what that translates to? "We have bigger holes in our team than other teams".

I'm not gonna hate the guy or stomp my feet because he wants to win and is pursuing the best chance for that to happen.

This is FRUSTRATING. Why can't Ainge at least attempt to go after Jones..

I know Jones would want clear minutes, and a role. But at least see what you got with him... Chemistry is vital, but the fact we HAVEN'T done anything has made me upset.

I wanted Bogut, but the writing was on the wall, he wanted to win a championship.

Of that list I would say that Korver, D Will, and Bogut are probably playing at a higher level than all of them and it isn't close.  I know that Cassell gave us some good minutes / games that year, but the rest of that list did really nothing.

Well, that's a bit disappointing Bogut chose Cleveland over Boston, but not terribly surprising. I think Bogut, more than anything, wants a chance to stick it to his old team. He clearly wasn't happy with being traded, even if he understood why it had to happen.

But if winning a ring as a guy who is unlikely to get much meaningful playing time in Cleveland is what drives Bogut, good for him. I'm guessing he could have had a bigger role with Boston, but obviously that wasn't his biggest priority.

it's okay---we didn't want to kill the great chemistry of this squad...Jordan Mickey and D.Jackson carry a lot of weight in that locker room....LAUGHABLE.

Side Note: L.James is WEAK AS **** for always getting anyone he wants.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Another failure by Danny. Not surprised with the Bogut decision, but to not even upgrade our current team's huge holes is just a gigantic failure. Not signing Jones is the cherry on top of this entire trade deadline fiasco, especially when he might legitimately be the second best big on the team behind Horford.

Keep on "liking our guys" and hoarding our lesser assets, Danny, because I'm sure they'll bring us banner 18.

Neither DWill nor Bogut are great, but their acquisitions make the Warriors-Cavs finals a little more intriguing.

Williams probably's still got a game or two of magic left in his old legs.

Bogut is not something GSW wants to see.
