And, predictably, the media spin:

That is laughable...Bogut would have helped us, even if he was only giving us 15-20 min a night.  But it kind of makes me sick how everyone is just a ring-kisser-ring-chaser these days.

If you look back, this has been happening for decades now. And the Celtics were benefactors in some of those years. Nothing new here.

The NBA needs to do something to address this absurdity of ring chasing that we see every year that

Remember, plenty of aging vets ring chased with us in the Big 3 era. If players can clear waivers, they can sign where they want (with some exceptions).

Well define plenty... I remember PJ Brown was a big one. I remember marbury another year. I think we got an ineffective Troy Murphy another year. Did we ever get 2 in the same year (while get a third, Korver, in a salary dump)? This does seem a bit much. Not to mention their salary cap is way higher than the Celtics ever was right?

Yeah, no thanks.

I don't like the fact Bogut just threw us aside, and said, "I like you, but not like that. Can't we just be friends?"

Kyle Korver, D Will, and now Bogut aren't just vet min guys to fill out the roster.  Cleveland has picked up way too much found money this year.  We had what one?  PJ Brown?  Cmon this isn't the same as 2008.

I would've liked Bogut for the stretch run this season, but I don't want Danny to sign him to a deal this summer—too many injuries.

thanks blink, tp. That is the same point I was just making. We got marbury another year and he really had an extremely minimal impact.

Michael Finley, Sam Cassell too.  Cassel came the same year as PJ.

Maybe the biggest lesson, and one Danny's recently mentioned, is that almost none of those guys moved the needle for us much if at all. PJ was the big exception but he came out of retirement, no buyout.
