Players always say their workout went well.  What's Sanders going to post on the internet when he's been trying to hype up his comeback all season?  "I had a workout and I can't name the team at the moment.  I wasn't very good."   Nope.

Cool that this thing blew up so fast!

I'm just an overly Obsessive Celtics fan, Keith Smith did reach out and apologize for not giving me credit for the "detective work" and said he was on the phone confirming it as I posted it or something to that effect

Next up:

Super Speculation!!!

Is that Larry Sanders at dinner with Jae Crowder

Remy the guy with Larry Sanders in one of his videos is followed/friends with Jae Crowder

This is great news. I think Larry will be signing with us very soon. Knowledgeable Celtics fans must be very happy right now. Jay King has always seemed legit. He says the story emerged in the way the original poster put it. The guy at twitter, on the other hand, speaks up some source of his as if it's his scoop. Unless I missed something.

Well, Jay King's report indicates that the workout wasn't overly impressive, so we should pull the brakes on the notion that the Celtics will add Sanders soon until more info is released.

Ideally we'd sign him a 3 for 1 trade to consolidate things and open up the Spots for Sanders and Zizic.

I wouldn't worry too much about the early reports of his impressiveness. We wouldn't be signing Sanders for who he is today, more who he will be if he get's back in the NBA conditioning program.

Sanders saying the work out went well might be referring as much to the feedback for the team's plan on how they'd acclimate him as it would from anything he did on the court.

Zizic cannot come over at this point.  He certainly has at least a buyout of $1.5 million this year (that's what his Turkish team paid).  The Celtics can only pay $650k, so the rest would need to come from Zizic.  Zizic salary this year from the Celtics would be about $1.4 million, but pro-rated since the season has started.  He'd get less than half, or about $700k, if he came over today.  That's less than his likely buyout, so he'd essentially play for free.  It's not happening this season.

Where do you get the Jae Crowder dinner connection? Can't see Jay (am on phone so hard to squint)

Crowder is the one who took and posted the pic (Bossmann99 written, upper left corner)

Not a shock they'd have a connection or two.  Crowder was at Marquette (located in Milwaukee) when Sanders first started in the NBA with the Bucks.  I'm sure there are some people that float between hanging with the pros and hanging with the pro prospects.

So what is more likely...

a) we are moving guys to bring Larry in as a project
b) we are bringing Larry in because we are about to move some guys in another deal?

Sanders replaces both Zeller and Amir's skillsets. Both guys make a combined $20 million.
Larry would be likely signed to the vet's minimum or something very small.

To dump one of these guys means we are clearing room for something right? Maybe Saltlover and confirm or add his theory/expertise.

Can't see where Sanders could get in playing shape, which I think would take longer than most fans here realize, pick up the team defensive schemes and be an asset this year. But, if the C's sign a max free agent in the off season, they most likely would have to sign a couple of vets at the minimum and Sanders would be a great gamble.
