Huge win in these circumstances.  I think we can officially say this is a good team and we probably need to stop whining because they may not ultimately be a great team yet.

Mike

I agree that this is a big win considering the back to back and the absence of AB and Amir.

I also agree that this is a good, not great, team, and I'm coming to terms with being fine with that. I'd be happy with the No. 3 seed, though there's still plenty of time to get the No. 2 seed, and I didn't expect them to dethrone the Cavs this year anyway.

This team has clear deficiencies—rebounding, a second very-good-to-great scorer, and too much lax defense—but I think I can't expect them to be any better or anything other than what they are right now. And that's fine.

Smart just became my favorite player when he said meet me out back to Beal's b1tch ass. If there's one thing that I can never fault Smart for it's his tenacity. Loved how he was abusing Beal on the block and then locking up on the other side. Beal just became one of my least favorite players tonight. Coward 4ss

Locking him up to the tune of 35?
most of his points came when marcus not guarding him, different story when smart was on him

And Smart killed Beal in the post.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Crowder and Wall got into a post game fight.  We'll see if anything happens from the league.

An actual fight? Was it televised?

Yeah, the Wizards broadcast showed it.  Crowder and Wall were jawing.  Crowder put his hand near Wall's face, Wall pushed him away with two hands.  It got feisty with coaches and players from both sides, and it looked like Wall threw a punch at Jae.

Interesting, thanks for the report.  Hope the league doesn't come down with a suspension.

Wizards post-game show thinks that Wall has a lot more to worry about than Jae.  Jae maybe could get fined, or a T if they give those for post-game extra-curriculars.  Didn't look like Jae made any contact.

Hey beyond the after game antics, an incredible 4th quarter performance by IT.
Nice shorthanded win!

Really great win considering how shorthanded we were.  Frustrating but it was a game worth watching.

Game was brutal but the 4th quarter was great!

Couple of reporters tweeting that there was a group of cops standing between the two locker rooms after the game.  When's the next game against these guys?

I love it! Crowder has really done his research on how to endear himself to Celtics fans!

Here's video of the altercation. I'm guessing Jae will get a technical and maybe a fine, but Wall looks to throw two slaps/punches at Jae. He'll be suspended, especially after already having issues earlier in the year with Smart.

EDIT: Lol and I love Smart and Rozier coming to back-up Jae ready to throw down lol I don't think you'd want to mess with Smart or Jae.

just for fun, i looked up smart's shooting in the last 9 games and this one (yes, clear cherry picking) to see if recently he has slowly begun to shoot better. here is what i found:

3 pointers = 15 of 31, 41.6% (which includes the 0-5 tonight)
2 pointers = 20 of 49, 40.8%
FT = 300 of 33, 90.1%

i am sure i missed a number here or there since i am traveling and working off my ipad. so feel free to correct me.

but if these number are within barking distance of reality, then maybe maybe maybe smart is slowly starting to improve his shooting.

Wall does have the history of having a very short fuse

remember his rookie year where he threw an elbow at Ilgauskus when he faced the Heat in LeBron's first year
I think he also did something similar earlier this season? forgot which game

Has to get to the rim more and use his size to finish. His FG% will naturally increase if he continues to do that and shoot the right 3 ball on occasion. Still too many poor shooting decisions and too much outside stuff for a guard his size.

I appreciate the improvement though.
