It's weird to think that but they're the same age and Rozier was just so much more poised that Dunn last night. You might be able to chalk that up to Rozier's year of NBA experience, but as of today that's not out of the question.

Rozier has the right attitude to be a good player in this league

Dunn (with the advice of his agent) is already off to a bad start (avoid working out)...

Rozier IS better....but we could have traded Dunn for a lot...Everyone was on his jock---I don't see why though..Danny made the right choice. Brown just turned 20--he'll be better than Dunn.

I'm not sure Dunn would have yielded a lot. Dunn + Crowder + Smart + Brooklyn picks would have yielded a good player.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I have to say, he's been rather underwhelming to start the season. It's still early though, so maybe once he gets more comfortable with the NBA game he will have more success. This stuff takes time. We can't preach patience for Smart and Terry but also say that Dunn would have been an awful pick. Gotta be fair, both ways.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Noel, Covington, 24, and 26 is a pretty decent haul.  That was rumored to have been offered for 3.  Not sure what else might have been out there, but that would have been decent.  That trade might have also given Boston enough ammunition to acquire 8 from Sacto with the added 1st rounders (something like 16, 23, 24, and 35 might have topped Phoenix's offer of 13, 28. Bogdanovic, and 2020 2nd).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - Noah, G. Wallace,
Deep Bench -

I think had we drafted dunn. I think good chance butler would have been a celtic. Even when minny drafted dunn they almost flipped dunn for butler not sure what happened.

I think what happened is that this was just a rumor, and the Bulls never really had any intention on trading Butler unless they got their socks completely knocked off by an offer.

Only time will tell, but I think Brown will be better. A future all star imo. So that's a dumb trade imo for a guy who can't rebound as bitterjim has already laid out. I'm glad Danny is GM.

Sixers have Simmons and Embiid. The rest are eh. I think Okafor would be amazing if he wasn't so slow on defense. Effort seems to be more of the issue. If he can improve in that, then they got themselves another stud.

That's a decent amount of talent but Boston has zero need for anymore picks in the 20s, Covington is just a guy and Noel has to either get an extension next season or play on his qualifying offer.  The offer doesn't really fit where Boston is right now.

That's where Philly hurt themselves by stripping out every single decent player on their roster.  If they had still had Thaddeus Young, pairing him with Noel and Covington in exhange for #3, Rozier, James Young and Hunter would probably have been more tempting for Ainge.

The major league-wide news breakers and big insiders for Chicago said in the immediate aftermath of the draft that the Bulls discussions with Minnesota were not nearly as intense and serious as the discussions the Bulls had with Boston.

I think it was mostly speculation, that, after Phoenix also passed on Dunn, Minnesota would be interested in trading for Butler. Because the pieces definitely aligned: Jimmy-Thibs reunion, too many guards for Minny, Chicago gets the guy they want and can start over again. It seemed like a perfect trade, but I'm not sure if there were actually any serious discussion, or at least, discussions more serious than our discussions with Chicago

Would anyone trade Rozier for Dunn as of right now? Jaylen for Dunn?

Has this rumor ever been substantiated? It feels like we go crazy over every rumor, and none of them ever turn out to be true.

I think the same things as when I watched him last year; he has great length but is vastly over rated.   None of his play has even remotely came close to changing that opinion but rather validated it.

Yeah Philly fans love to do that. Rarley is there accurate reporting regarding the Celtics. Most of the trades that actually happen are either surprises, or are reported that day of the trade.

What we know is that Philly has put both bigs on the trade market and have not received an offer they are looking for. There were rumors Noel has more value than Okafor. That Philly couldn't fetch a top 5 pick for Okafor in a garbage draft.

I did not want Dunn, I did want Bender. Interesting to see how quick people were to call us out on Bender yet they are remaining oddly silent over Dunn's sluggish progress...

Ultimately I'm very happy we took Brown. He looks like the 3rd best player in the draft at least, very bright future for him

I think most people didn't want Dunn, they wanted us to trade the pick. However, I have to admit I'm surprised at how bad Dunn looked so far. It's still early in his rookie season, but I thought the one thing Dunn had going for him was being "NBA ready".
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.
