So, I found this on Twitter and was fairly blown away. I'll give credit once someone figures this out.
Who ya got? (All stats per36)
Player A: 23.6/3.6/4.9 50.9%TS, 21 PER
Player B: 21.3/3.2/6.2 57.3% TS, 19.9 PER
Feel free to discuss which one you'd rather have, and TP to the first to get it right!
This has more to do with Player A being supremely overrated over the course of his career. Had he been playing in the modern era, I'd hope that bloggers would rip him for his inefficiency and chucking.
Lar giving out hints! I'm assuming you saw the tweet as well?
I've seen the TS% of Player A referenced before, because I've long been a believer that Player A was one of the most overrated players in history. I figured it out from there.
People focused on his scoring and how fun he was to watch... but there were years when he averaged 30+ points while shooting under 40% and under 30% from three... and of course when a player averages 41-43 minutes per game, his stats will inevitably go up.
It's incredible what Player B can do.
The only things I'll say in defense of the supremely overrated Player A... his supporting talent was arguably worse than what Player B has. That can impact efficiency. Also, when you factor defense into the conversation, it impacts the comparison.
