So, I found this on Twitter and was fairly blown away. I'll give credit once someone figures this out.

Quote
Who ya got? (All stats per36)

Player A: 23.6/3.6/4.9 50.9%TS, 21 PER

Player B: 21.3/3.2/6.2 57.3% TS, 19.9 PER

Feel free to discuss which one you'd rather have, and TP to the first to get it right!
This has more to do with Player A being supremely overrated over the course of his career.  Had he been playing in the modern era, I'd hope that bloggers would rip him for his inefficiency and chucking.

Ricky Davis vs Premium "Jimmy Buckets" Ricky Davis?? lol
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Lar giving out hints! I'm assuming you saw the tweet as well?
I've seen the TS% of Player A referenced before, because I've long been a believer that Player A was one of the most overrated players in history.   I figured it out from there.

People focused on his scoring and how fun he was to watch... but there were years when he averaged 30+ points while shooting under 40% and under 30% from three... and of course when a player averages 41-43 minutes per game, his stats will inevitably go up.

It's incredible what Player B can do.

The only things I'll say in defense of the supremely overrated Player A... his supporting talent was arguably worse than what Player B has.  That can impact efficiency.  Also, when you factor defense into the conversation, it impacts the comparison.

Is it Wiggins? If so I take him over Giannis too.  Wiggins upside is ridiculous if he ever reaches it.  That's an interesting comparison though.  Giannis is basically the new age Pippen.

I've always been a big fan of Player A. He was a "real killa," but yeah, the efficiency was slightly less than ideal (startlingly bad).
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

It's not  Wiggins.  He doesn't have those kind of passing skills yet.

Some people are very close, others not so much. There are some pretty good hints throughout now, courtesy of me, LarBrd, and bdm.

My hints probably give it away for anyone still trying to figure it out.  Last hint I'll say without spoiling it would be that you posted this under "Celtics Talk" and not "Around the NBA".

TP for the thread.

George Hill and Mike Conley? The kicker is per 36.  I'm not going to go and figure that out lol.

Is the 21 and 19.9 per what they are getting now?

Some of you are headed off on the wrong track, it's career Per-36 through X seasons.

One active, one retired.

Everyone, start here.

IT and AI?

Player A is Allen Iverson through his first six seasons.

Player B is Isaiah Thomas.

really. I just looked on basketball reference.  B was definately IT.  AI was just a guess.  His stats per 36 are not that.

Yeah, it's Iverson through his first six seasons to get the same sample as IT.
