i actually want him to be a little more selfish...   don't just pass it off to IT

unless it is by design..... if brown put up 10 more shots, he prob would have ended with 35 pts and we might of pulled off a win

IT and Bradley only saw each other down the stretch. Brown could have easily had 5 more easy looks late in the game.

Jaylen is being overly deferential to the vets, especially Isiah. That is to expected, kid just turned 20.

I think games like tonight will only give him the confidence to increase his assertiveness.

We all know that LarBrd33 has made his share of controversial posts in the past, but for the most part it seems like his recent posts have been perfectly reasonable. 

I don't see any reason to try and create drama for the sake of creating drama - I think people should give the fellow a break.

Jaylen was limited to 8 minutes against the Bulls and that game dropped his averages enough that he actually dropped behind Dunn, Saric, Sabonis and Chriss and others on the rookie efficiency rankings.   The big game tonight brings him back up.  He's got an EFF of 9.4 in 19.8 minutes.   The game tonight was spectacular.  A sign of things to come down the road, hopefully.

The only rookies who have better single game stat performances than Jaylen's tonight:  Joel Embiid on 11/1.  Deyonta Davis on 11/1... and Malcolm Brogdon tonight, technically.    But Jaylen's happened against the defending champs going head-to-head with LeBron... that's outstanding.

Coming into the league a lot of people said Jaylen was the second coming of Jeff Green.  Hopefully that doesn mean he has the inconsistency of Green.  He seems to have a better mentality, though.   Hopefully he keeps working and improving.  If you were to tell me a year ago that we'd end up with the #3 pick and in the 5th game of his career the 20 year old would drop 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block with 50% shooting in 35 minutes as a starter against LeBron and the defending champion Cavs, I'd probably pee my pants.

Couldn't be more excited about Jaylen.  He looks confident, but unsure of his role.  E.g. when he decides he's going to try to score, he's all in and very aggressive and efficient, but he's not sure how often he should be the one trying to create.  Once he lets that confidence boil over into being aggressive at all times on the court, he's going to be something special.

Just thought I'd chime in her: Personally,at the time of the draft I was hyped Danny picked Jaylen. I thought he had the highest upside of anyone other than Simmons. He was the clear choice at 3. He was a gamble, but a gamble worth taking. I liked him better than Dunn and believed in 5 years he would probably be better than Dunn. The only other guy in the 3-8 range who had a ceiling comparable would be the kid who went 8 to Phoenix, and Danny chose Jaylen over him so I trusted and still trust ainge. He was the right pick at the time. Dunn's is not Lillard 2.0, which a lot of ppl were saying for some reason. If Jaylen was Dunn's age, putting up the production he was putting up in college, then yes, I would have selected Dunn. But Jaylen is 19. Clearly the best player to take a swing on. Playing it safe is lame at 3 in the draft

I was not on board with the Jaylen pick and now I'm glad to say that I'm not just on the bandwagon because he's a Celtic, but I was objectively wrong and he's actually that good.

On paper, Brown was the one that was most likely to fill a need. The team needed another player on the wing since Turner's departure was pretty inevitable, and they needed someone who could contribute right away. Brown was the only wing and he had an NBA-ready body.

Sure the team needed a big, but the bigs that were going to be available (Bender, Chriss) were deemed "projects", which this team didn't want to take on. This draft had guards who I think are going to be good (Dunn, Hield, and Murray) but that would have just added to the surplus of guards the team already had.

I think fans were angry at the Brown pick primarily because it meant the Celtics weren't getting Jimmy Butler. If no rumors of a potential Jimmy Butler trade had been announced earlier, we all probably would have been okay with the pick.
