  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Anyone watched him playing for New Orleans.
Already looks like he'll score with ease in the NBA. His shooting is just as deadly. He was my binkie and I wanted us to take him, so I'm hyping him up pretty hard, but he looks very smooth indeed.

Here's a clip vs Pacers 2 nights after getting 16 points in NBA debut.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

He looks fantastic in preseason. He landed on a team that is a great fit for him, and he's the most NBA ready out of the lottery picks. He could be primed for a rookie of the year campaign unless The Process plays enough minutes to put everyone else out of the running.

Etwaun Moore looked good too.
I would take him over Hunter/Young.
did we get anything for him?

He was my binkie too, and I'm sure he is going to have a fine career.  I was disappointed Danny didn't take him at the time, but Jaylen is a heck of a prospect, and was no doubt the "correct" choice for DA to make.  Best of luck to both of them...

Was my choice at #3 too as the most "complete" player available, never seriously considered Brown or Dunn.  ROY would not shock me, but Brown will have a better career.

i loved moore too. i know we traded him during his second summer league (he was lighting it up if i recall). he was part of a package deal for Courtney Lee.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

He was my choice at #3 also, but I agree with you Danny made the "correct" decision. I'm happy with Brown.

same here.

Jaylen does look good so far but missing on such a natural scorer & capable 3pt threat might haunt this franchise for awhile.  Especially if Smart doesn't pan out, whom I'm sure the front office was thinking about when they chose the swing over the 2-guard.

If it turns out that Ainge passed on the next Kobe in favor of holding onto two Tony Allen's-- he'll take a lot of flack.  Hoping I'm wrong...

I'm glad to see Hield is doing well.  The question with him has always been how much of a playmaker and defender he can be at the NBA level, not whether he'd get his shot to fall and put the ball in the basket.

Jamal Murray is doing some nice things in preseason, too, from what I hear.

Jaylen Brown will take some more time, but it's undeniable he's shown much greater potential as a versatile defender who could also be a quality scorer.  At the same time, even though it's early it's probably safe to say Jaylen will never been the same kind of smooth shooter as Murray or Hield.  He might end up as a higher leverage player who makes a larger impact, though, by dint of his defense and his ability to get inside and draw fouls.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

We could have gotten Jaylen at 5, 6, or 7.....wish we had traded down. If Ainge took the chance and Jaylen was taken before we picked then Buddy Hield would have been completely fine to pick and IMO we all would have been happy.

I like Jaylen a lot but IMO we could have squeezed the #3 pick for more juice.

Also, DA showed horrible judgment (LIKE HILLARY) when he chose Gab at #16 and then trading the first pick in the 2nd round and etc to the Grizzlies. DA should have consolidated or made a dam trade because a ton of value was lost......we are lucky that we have such great resources and assets but if Ainge keeps getting 70cents on the dollar then that won't be for long.
