If we are going with tier 3 prospects who were athletic, but raw coming out of college, I prefer using Kawhi Leonard as a comparison. At least he plays the same position as Jaylen.
Great point and one larbrd would never make.
But one he should respond to if he has any integrity.
first of all, don't ever accuse me of having integrity. Second of all, it goes without saying (despite the fact I've said it a zillion times) that players can obviously exceed expectations or fall short of expectations. Clay knows this. You know this. Everyone knows this. We all hope Jaylen going into an ideal developmental environment will allow him to exceed expectations. He's at the same starting point Anthony Bennett was at three years ago - that doesn't mean he will end up like Anthony Bennett.
This thread did make me doubt your integrity for the first time. The other posters have raised some players that have a lot more in common with Brown (same size, same position, same limitations on their game) but you have chosen to select an undersized big man that actually had really good shooting numbers in college (he shot 37% on 3's), but had questions about his motor and basketball iq (also the opposite of brown).
To me, and anyone else reading this thread, it is rather obvious you are choosing the Bennett comp because Bennett flamed out after being a high pick (which is all he has in common with brown).
Otherwise you would at least select a guy like Kawaii who was said to have a poor handle (like brown) supposed to have trouble creating off the dribble (like brown) shot particularly poor from 3 point land (20 and 29%) had a poor touch around the basket (like brown) had excellent size and strength (like brown, though kawaii's reach is obviously freakishly good) and played small forward like Brown.
Fortunately the angle you have taken on this has been so transparent we can all see what you ate for breakfast so I don't think anyone really needs to play along with it and act like it is a valid comparison.
