I know it's a minority opinion on this board, but I still would REALLY love to have Noel on the team. Assuming a trade would be something like Rozier, Young, and a pick, we might legit have a historic defense with a lineup of:

PG: IT, Smart
SG: Bradley, Green
SF: Crowder, Brown
PF: Horford, Amir, JJ
C: Noel, KO, Mickey
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Lol. Lifshatz*, bro.  TP.

I can get on board with excitement over that, though.

I cannot BELIEVE we are easily the 2nd best team in the East after Noel joins us to shore up a defensive juggernaut. :)

Beat me by 32 seconds, jerk.

If they wanted #3, though, I think it'd cost us Smart. So we probably do lose a bit at guard, but Noel's impact at Center would outweigh that imo, even if only based on need.

I do, too. But Noel is one of the few other centers that you could pair him with defensively due to his outstanding ability to guard on the perimeter. For example, against Cleveland you could have Noel giving Love hell out on the perimeter while Horford covers TT around the basket. Either way, you have a rim protector in the middle by pairing those two. And Al's increased range the past couple of seasons let's them play together offensively, and he's certainly not any worse offensively than Amir. This would also greatly increase our bench strength with moving Amir there, too, though it'd suck for JJ's playing time, who I think is very valuable for us.

EDIT: You'd also then have the perfect "switch" defense to guard Cleveland with anyone not named IT able to switch defenders on the PnR.

Agreed. And probably why that rumor, as specific as it was, seemed legit -- there are a lot of reasons we'd attempt to snag Noel.  It just makes sense.  In general, his timeline would fit our young guys (Smart, Brown, BKN 17, 18) so well, and then he'd also be solid right away. I imagine he'd finish well off on feeds from IT and Horford, too.

You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

#1 defensive lineup in the NBA! Book it!!!

On a more serious note though, why did he tweet that out? Random personal thing or did a new clam chowdahh restaurant open near his place or something?

I'm guessing it's football related.

Pretty sure Nerlens is just showing some civic pride for the fact that news just dropped that Boston's preschools are ahead of the curve:  http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/boston-preschools-ahead-of-curve/
