It's funny because I am currently playing 2k with our current roster. I know 2k doesn't necessarily translate into reality, but it is interesting that I encountered many potentially realistic problems with the personnel combination. I had to change the starting line up many times, inserting Kelly, Amir, JJ, and even Brown. Each had its pros and cons.
I originally started with Amir, which was fine for the starting line up. But the bench suffered big time with rebounds. Kelly and JJ could not get a single defensive rebound as the bigs and the defense had zero shot blocking or shot altering.
Then I started Kelly and moved Amir to the bench. Once again, the starting line up was fine, and offense was even better actually with Kelly picking and popping. The bench with Amir, however, seriously lacked shooting. The Rozier, Smart, Brown, JJ, and Amir combination struggled to score points as JJ was the only reliable 3 point shooter. The rebounding wasn't that great either.
Then, I tried JJ as the starter. This combination was very similar to the Kelly combination but I think it worked out a little better for the starters and bench combined.
I finally started the small ball line up with Brown and Crowder as the 3 and 4. I really liked this combination as our bench now had JJ, Kelly, and Amir and were playing great. Brown did well as a starter too, but maybe the created version is a little further along in the development than real life. I do think the creator that uploaded him made it pretty realistic as he is athletic, but has a sketchy jumpshot. I mainly liked this lineup as well because I can get Smart his stats on the bench without trying to make sure Brown gets enough stats. haha.
In summary, I think all of the combinations have some pros and cons. I think we really need to pick up a defensive big man so that we can use any combination and still make sure that our bench has the right mix of shooting, defense, etc.
Aside from a defensive big man, I think if we can get Terrence Jones cheap and healthy, it really would be the perfect fit as he can block shots and shoot 3s.
