I am not going to pull that up from the description of it at work, but obviously that is poor taste as described. I am not saying that this guy is brilliant in any stretch of the imagination or only puts out great stuff. However, I am saying that I think if you don't know how Twitter works it is really easy to just laugh at 11k followers and the level of engagement this guy has and act like it is not an accomplishment. If his 11k followers are all related to his job than he is doing a really good job at his job. Try to find me tons of people on the web that only follow 350 accounts and have 11k followers and also have a flood of interactions, likes and retweets.

By comparison, look at the fairly respected account of Marc Murphy

https://twitter.com/Murf56
I'd laugh the same way at Mark Murphy if he were trying to provide inside information about Lexus. I've seen way too many instances where folks that are impeccable professionals in one field insist on being complete hacks in something unrelated.

I'll grant you that. TP for the discourse.
Well, maybe he's right and we'll all look like fools in the end of the day. Things like that happen. Also, judging by the contents of his Twitter feed, he doesn't seem to stand to gain anything from all the attention.

He is really going for it too, I'll give him that.  Just tweeted out Bulpett was wrong saying there's been no actual trade talks heating up.

According to Bulpett

The Boston Celtics remain open to major moves and have expressed interest in Blake Griffin and Russell Westbrook in the past, but there have been no discussions regarding either player in quite some time, according to sources.

I'd probably listen to this Bulpett guy, but that's just me.  ;)

Basketball isn't rocket science in the end.  I'd rather have fun.  All the he said she said stuff who cares. They are all wrong.  I've given up on relying on the media a long time ago.

Haha I love all these contradicting rumors. We'll all end up disappointed if we believe them ::)

This is how much power we have right now. All the picks, players like crowder from a bench warmer to a legit starting sf

And the upcoming drafts look good. Everyone wants to grab the next duncan, lebron, KG or Kobe

Please see this post for the ultimate outcome:

I fully expect, by tomorrow, we'll be "really close" to a trade with Philly for one of their bigs.   Then, when the weekend comes and goes, "sources" will indicate that Sac is again "mulling" a Cousins deal with the C's as the "most likely" destination.  Once that gets shot down, Chicago will have "re-engaged" on the Butler front.

By the fall, your Boston Celtics will look like this:

IT , Rozier
AB, Smart
Crowder, Brown
Horford, KO
Amir, Zeller

Then we'll do this dance all over again in Dec/Jan/Feb.

Mike

Don't care if these are unverified rumors or just made up by some guy with twitter following. This is a lot of fun especially in the summer. Nothing better than lobster rolls, chips, Sangria and rumors of a big trade for the Celtics. Keep them coming and if it happens let it be tomorrow, we get Griffin or Westbrook and then Trump picks Pence. Overall a good week.

UNVERIFIED REPORT:

According to this guy Mike, there is an agreement:

Quote
Deadmik3™ ‏@StonewallSieve  9s9 seconds ago Watertown, MA
#Griffin to the #Celtics for Johnson, Bradley & the 2018 Brooklyn Nets pick. Details are being fine-tuned. Expect official announcement soon

Take it for what it's worth.
I thought this guy was in Las Vegas for "scout school", and he's now posting from Watertown, MA? LOL

the nonstop skepticism doesn't really add anything. I think everyone gets this is not super likely, but it is harmless fun on a slow news day to think about a hypothetical trade. Why the need to constantly mock the exercise?
It adds fun. For me. I think hacks like this one aren't mocked even nearly enough around here these days.

Well I mean I guess you should know a bit more about Twitter if you want to nonstop mock people for using it. I work for one of the larger health care organization in the country as a social media manager and it is my job to understand how it works.

In general there is tons of garbage, on Twitter and anyone can say anything. However, someone that only follows 350 accounts and has 11k followers (with the exception that they are purchased bots and this guys engagement suggests they are not) is definitely considered a strong influencer. I have not gone through the guys entire account to see why so many people follow the guy, but he has obviously contributed content of value to people to gain that kind of following (many national organizations, legitimate news personalities etc all have less than this).

On top of that, it would be pretty unusual for someone that has built up this big a following to just completely fabricate stuff randomly and risk losing the account he has built up. It is not a situation where he is getting paid for clicks on his tweet or paid for traffic to his twitter handle.

As a point of comparison I was once paid by the International Diabetes Federation to be a speaker at their annual conference entirely based off the content I put out on Twitter related to a niche audience of diabetes care. That account had only 2k followers.

This doesn't make anything this guy has said more or less true in the long run, but he is someone that has contributed value in the past to Twitter and isn't some 12 year old plugging stuff into the trade machine.
The guy is a business development rep at Lexus of Watertown. His job is to be connected, that's why he has 11k followers. And I don't think he's losing them over Celtics tweets.

Also, the picture he posted of a naked dwarf with his dong hanging out is downright odd.

https://www.facebook.com/public/Mike-McAndrews
I think he has 11k followers because of the Celtics rumors, I doubt he had even half that before.

Everything else I agree with. Thanks for looking up what he does. If he worked on a deal to get the Celtics organization company cars it stands to reason that he might know someone.

That being said, I'll believe he's correct when Woj, Stein, Aldridge or Sham tweets it and not before.

That's probably not true.

When he stated the first griffin news at least, he had 10.5k.
Before the Griffin rumor he said we would get Horford a couple days before it happened. He also said we would draft Jaylen Brown before the draft.

So I agree he didn't get followers because of the Griffin news, but I think he did get them posting about the C's.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

His supposed initial and only claim to fame was when he broke Al Horford.

just to continue adding fuel to the fire, i believe that bulpett story came before the tweets about the imminent deal so still a possibility!

at this point i'm assuming nothing will happen until something does.  i have my horford jersey on pre-order so i'm ok lol.
Play to win.  Always.

On the other hand, legitimate front-office sources -- like the ones Bulpett has access to -- are probably more likely to not spill the beans on something like this. We'll see.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Plus, this was old news from yesterday that he posted.

With as much smoke as there is, someone is probably leaking these rumors over at summer league.

I actually wouldn't doubt if this was Danny's way of trying to get Sacramento to finally give up Boogie by saying, "Look, this Brooklyn pick isn't going to be available for long. With your pick situation the next few years, it benefits you to take advantage of these now and start over."
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.
