Griffin would be terrific under Brad Stevens. In discussion for mvp next season.
His value depends on clippers leverage (offer from other teams, griffin doesn't want to stay in LA, etc...).
I seriously doubt Ainge would give the farm for him.

I'm not giving up both nets picks. One nets pick, Bradley and crowder should be enough. I'm not doing the deal unless he promises not to opt out a year from now.

If Blake is determined healthy, and plays like he did in 2013, he's the second best player in the east. He would solve our rebounding issues and bring Blake back to his pee Deandre rebounding numbers.

Blake is a great fit next to Horford. They both are plus passers who will fit great in our offense. Both can guard multiple positions which facilitates the switching defense Brad prefers to run.

Both Blake and horford have played on top 5 defenses, and Griffin is a better defender than he gets credit for.

The Celtics play at one of the fastest paces in the league, Griffin is elite in the open court put those things together and you get much  improved offense.

We would miss crowder and Bradley who were out defensive heart beat, but they can be replaced for an upgrade this good.

Good post. TP. I see nothing in here I disagree with.

Except the part where the Cs would I've up Bradley, Crowder and a potential Top 5 pick for a Griffin rental  ::)

That's the risk you take with moves like this. How many superstars are getting traded mid-contract these days? You get him for the season, show him what being a part of this franchise is like.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Blake is not opting in as a condition of a trade. He's in a winning situation right now, not stuck on a lottery team desperate to get a on a team with some talent next to him.

So remove that caveat from your mental map it is not going to happen.

I'd prefer to give up 2018 BK pick, but would consider the 2017 pick if it meant we could keep Crowder. I just feel like giving him up would be too much, even for a superstar.

Ainge may very well have a predicament in whether he wants to give up the 17 pick for Cousins or the 18 pick for Griffin. Nice predicament. More likely, he is waiting on Griffin's option and perhaps his medicals.

It is a given that Griffin would have to agree to serious extension talks to make this or a Westbrook deal. The certainty that he won't is nothing more than speculation by the speaker.

People say stuff like this while ignoring that this isn't actually how the modern NBA works. Cleveland got no such assurance from Kevin Love. Miami got no such assurance from Goran Dragic.

I guess giving up both Nets picks is a no for me.  I'd give up 2018 and the Memphis pick, plus players though.

So you are telling me we are getting Cousins? Or Westbrook?
