Keep him for a couple years and lose him for nothing? Cousins wants out and if they're worst than last year (most likely) Boogie is not going want to play and be a pain in the side for the Kings. Cash in now and a solid player and draft picks. His value only goes down by holding on to him for another year.
If you look at the Kings, they have no direction. They keep Boogie and they'll still be really bad. Why not trade a disgruntled Cousins and grab low draft picks, along with the low draft pick that they'll end up with. The Cs got most to offer for the Kings.
don't they have a pick swap with the Sixers?
But here's the thing, if you think they are going to be bad anyway, why not keep the best (or 2nd best) center in basketball.
I can certainly see that, but Boogie would give up a ton of money to leave Sacto and by all accounts he does actually like it there. Doesn't mean he won't leave at some point.
If Sacto gets a good enough offer I'm sure they would trade him, I just wouldn't be looking to do so if I was them.
