actually can someone refresh my memory on griffin? who is he comparable too, what can he do for our team and what he offers as a player, thank you
Tall dude, plays basketball.

dunno what people like in him really considering the fact he was almost like a ghost last season lol
if you cant figure out what people like in the 27 year old 5 time all star who has career averages of 22 10 and 4 there is little hope for you.

meh borderline allstar...after last season, hes iffy...i do understand being around jordan and all but still...

Borderline? I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. When healthy, Griffin is probably a top ten player in the league, a borderline MVP candidate. He's a special player, a Hall-of-Fame talent, not a "borderline allstar."
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

listen I hate the guy. I much prefer Cousins. However, calling him a borderline all star is wrong. He has made the team 5 out of 6 season in the league and the one time he didnt make it he was hurt. Take out this year where he played 35 games and hes 5/5 for all star teams, 4/5 for making an All-NBA team and came in 3rd in the MVP vote in 2014, then like 9th in '15.

ye i guess maybe its also me not liking him much either...oh well...

When healthy he's up there with Westbrook and LeBron as one of the most dangerous players on the fast break.

He's a good rebounder, a solid midrange shooter and a very underrated passer.

His length is average so he's not going to protect the rim.

Horford and Griffin would form a fearsome big man duo, considering they are both plus passers who can switch in the pick and roll.

Accurate assessment.

Out here, it's widely known that Griffin doesn't like Doc, he doesn't like Paul and he doesn't like LA.
Thanks! TP!

Honestly, I think it's very unlikely that Doc deals him, since Doc doesn't seem like the guy who is willing to take a step back this year to get better in the future. I don't really see a package Danny would be willing to deal, that doesn't make the Clippers worse now.

If Danny traded for him it might force you to say something positive about him, haha.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Even Doc isn't stupid enough to trade Griffin for Gay. Or is he?

That doesn't make sense. Why would he want Gay over Crowder? If anything, it should be Gay PLUS Crowder going to LAC with draft compensation + Amir going to Sacramento, which would make more sense all around.

I also don't like any deal that loses us Crowder with nothing coming back for us at the 3. We are seriously thin there.
Yeah, the deal looks a lot more simple if it's just Griffin for Amir and Crowder. But then again, it's Doc. Stranger things have happened.

I could see him wanting Crowder at the 3 and Gay at the 4, though. I think that's an overall better team than just with Griffin. They've long needed a competent starting three. Would really suck to lose Crowder, though.

Does Griffin have a player option for his last year, or are they both guaranteed? That makes a big difference for me.

trust me I hear you. If we traded for him, Id be just OK with it because I really dont like the guy. I just think you have to give him the respect he deserves. Hes a bona fide star.

The more I thnik about this the more I come back to Gordon Hayward.

He is a FA next season and the Cs will obviously have an iside track on him with Stevens. The Jazz may look at their wings (Hood, Burke, Johnson and Exum) and think they can fill his void internally while adding assets rather then just loosing him as a FA.

Maybe a trade built around AB and the Nets 2018?

The info explicitly said Crowder is going to SAC, so that's why it's odd.

Otherwise, it's much easier to do Griffin and Pierce for Crowder, Amir, and Young.

I thought Griffin is a FA next year. Didn't realize he even had an option. Will probably opt out, but you do trade for him to convince him to stay anyhow.

What lineup is better:

Paul, Reddick, Crowder, Gay, and DJ

Or

Paul, Reddick, Pierce, Griffin, and DJ

I think there's a good argument to be made that LAC is better sans Griffin. They certainly matchup with Gokden State that way.

I'm going with their current lineup solely because of how little I think of Gay.

Looks like he has an Early Termination Option next year, which he is sure to use.

So it'd essentially be like trading for Westbrook unless he gives a Love-type handshake agreement that he'll re-sign.

They certainly didn't miss Griffin in the regular season last year and that was without Gay and Crowder so I will go with option 2. I don't think it will be cheap and the report said Crowder would be going to Sac, but it sure would be exciting.

If there is any possible way to substitute Bradley for Crowder, that would be much preferred from my end.

The only way the numbers seem to add up on this is if you send Amir with Crowder to Sacramento, and Jerebko with Gay to the Clippers. So we'll basically have no bench. Or a starting SF.

Makes sense:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jf3n2z3

What picks do we give up?  One Nets pick or both?

Yes bench would be very inexperienced:

IT   Rozier   Jackson
Bradley  McLemore  RJ
Smart   Brown   Young
Griffin  Yabusele   Bentil
Horford   Olynyk  Mickey
