Even Doc isn't stupid enough to trade Griffin for Gay. Or is he?

That doesn't make sense. Why would he want Gay over Crowder? If anything, it should be Gay PLUS Crowder going to LAC with draft compensation + Amir going to Sacramento, which would make more sense all around.

I also don't like any deal that loses us Crowder with nothing coming back for us at the 3. We are seriously thin there.

EDIT: I mean, you can't argue getting a star like Griffin, but he's honestly one of the last stars I have a preference for. I'd almost prefer Love to him due to his ability to stretch the floor.

I would love that, but would he be on big minute restrictions? I wonder if his body can last a full 82 game season

Yeah, the deal looks a lot more simple if it's just Griffin for Amir and Crowder. But then again, it's Doc. Stranger things have happened.

actually can someone refresh my memory on griffin? who is he comparable too, what can he do for our team and what he offers as a player, thank you
When healthy he's up there with Westbrook and LeBron as one of the most dangerous players on the fast break.

He's a good rebounder, a solid midrange shooter and a very underrated passer.

His length is average so he's not going to protect the rim.

Horford and Griffin would form a fearsome big man duo, considering they are both plus passers who can switch in the pick and roll.

Accurate assessment.

Out here, it's widely known that Griffin doesn't like Doc, he doesn't like Paul and he doesn't like LA.

listen I hate the guy. I much prefer Cousins. However, calling him a borderline all star is wrong. He has made the team 5 out of 6 season in the league and the one time he didnt make it he was hurt. Take out this year where he played 35 games and hes 5/5 for all star teams, 4/5 for making an All-NBA team and came in 3rd in the MVP vote in 2014, then like 9th in '15.

this makes sense :) thank you. but ye on the defensive end we would have to hope he steps up and we need to see how to best utilize him against the cavs and the warriors. to be fair when i picture it the way you described, looks good. i hope hes made improvements in his game though (expanding his range mainly)

He doesn't like LA? He is in like every commercial and makes appearances in movies. Certainly has a weird way of showing not liking the scene.

i just thought of this, I wonder how Griffin develops under BS vs Doc/Del Negro. It would be interesting to see Blake succeed in our system vs Doc

That makes sense.....PP back to Boston.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zl877ca

FYI, this works financially:

Boston: Griffin, Pierce

Sacramento: Amir, Young, (probably a lesser pick)

LAC: Gay, Crowder, (probably something like the Memphis pick, though certainly not a Brooklyn pick)

I'm not a HUGE fan of this trade, especially losing Crowder and Griffin being lower on my list, but I think both Boston and LAC gets better/what they want with this deal. And I guess if you're confident in either Brown growing into our future 3 or getting someone like Hayward next summer, then it's worth it.
