Guys, guys... Danny's draft record alone should let you know Jaylen has a great chance to be just a middling player. So let's not act like Danny uses the same resources as Sam Presti.

I've seen Bender, Dunn and Chriss in the D league so far, and they all look better than Brown.
I'm beginning to think Danny screwed the pooch. The only caveat is it's early.
I'm curious which part of Bender looks better. The 20% shooting? Or perhaps he's just more handsome?

It's the swoop in his hair.

Because he's long.

Long is sexy...

He didn't do much of anything out there.

I'm sure he's far off, but holding him up and tearing Brown down is ridiculous.

I actually wanted us to take Chriss so I get the appeal of a big.  Chriss looks raw too but had some definite amazing plays that show off his athletic potential.

While I don't think Bender is anything more than a soft Euro like most of the others from what I saw last night and we won't be upset over not picking him, I really worry about Chriss. He looked the part. Smooth, athletic, productive... Time will tell, but he's the one I worry about us wishing we had picked instead. Brown's looking very shaky in his basketball abilities. He loses the handle way too often and doesn't look like he has the fundamental defensive knowledge needed to be a star defender. Time will tell, however it's making people nervous.

I agree. I wish we had taken Chriss.

Name bias. ;)

The unintended humor found in this thread made my day. The amount of shear lunacy you can read in this thread is amazing. Hell, I am bi-polar but a lot of the people in here are crazier than me.

about the only thing that has impressed me with Brown has been the amount of fouls he's drawn. as far as all the things he's supposed to be able to do, I have yet to see and I think it will be a while before we do.

would not be surprised if this guy has a similar career to Gerald Green and that's the best case scenario.

Once brown figures out when to drive all the way vs dribble stop and pop, he will be a nightmare to play against.

And unlike Devin Booker, if Brown shot is not falling , he can always resort to driving in

He will be fine

Ridiculous.
Brown is a great defender right now, and he can drive and draw fouls.
And he is only 19.

What was it that "he was supposed to be able do" that you have not seen?

We've seen the athleticism.

We've seen the ability to get to the rim and draw fouls.

We've seen the defensive potential.

We've seen the lack of perimeter shooting.

We've seen how sometime he can be erratic.

Those are the strengths and weaknesses of Jaylen Brown coming in, as per most scouting. Did we miss something else?
