not getting my hopes up, but for the love of god - can Cousins just please publicly demand a trade so we can bring him to Boston where he belongs?  He's a nutcase, but he'd be our nutcase.   The Kings haven't had a winning record in a decade.  Get that guy out of there.  He needs and deserves a fresh start.

Kosta Koufos, Ben McLemore and, of course, Rudy Gay are three Sacramento Kings available via trade, according to league sources

One thing to keep in mind, Sacramento might feel a bit of pressure in making a trade. They have 12 players on their roster, and are over the cap. Keep in mind they have agreed to acquire players using cap space...

Not counting rookies either.

I like Koufus. Has a very good contract and fills the need for the "strong center" Ainge mentioned.

Or sign and trade them Sully and Zeller.

They could sign these guys for peanuts if they wanted too.   Why would they trade for them?

Why would we pick up a career backup with 4 years left on his contract?

I would trade for Boogie and McLemore. I would give them Amir and Bradley and some picks.

You can't get Sully for peanuts. If he wanted peanuts he would just take the QO and be unrestricted next summer. And if he accepted a very low offer for some reason, Boston would just match and then trade him to the highest bidder. RFAs don't go for peanuts unless they are absolute kryptonite.

Yup, if he got a very low offer, he'll certainly prop his value by taking the QA and sitting buried on the bench in Boston.

He's getting paid a very reasonable contract with the rising cap. If we would want to deal him, he would be very moveable.

The better way to do this has always been to add the heavy hitters first, and then sign players like Koufos with the MLE/LLE. I suppose he's not a horrible acquisition, but I'd rather see what the extra $8 million in cap can get us next year.

if we give them brown and the 17 right to swap plus the 18 Nets pick, that would mean we in effect trade KG and Pierce for Boogie? Not a bad deal... but that is a major haul for Sacramento !!!!
Why would the want the right to swap picks with the nets?
They have a good shot having a worse record/higher pick then Brooklyn.

He means send them our draft pick which has the rights to be swapped with Brooklyn's pick.

Im no capologist, and I haven't even gone to the trade machine, but something like Smart, Amir, Young, Demetrius, (maybe crowder OR Bradley if that was the sticking point), BRK 2018 (try as hard as you can to make it 18 not 17), Clippers and Memphis pick, and whatever other filler you need. (olynyk if its a must, but like the other things try to keep him.)

Basically rolling into the year with Brown getting heavy minutes as a bench scorer and defender, Rozier gets to be the other bench guy. IT/Horford/Cousins would be awesome.

They would be, but that doesn't guarantee you are better than Cleveland and it sure doesn't guarantee you are better than GSW.  And now you have mortgaged your entire future except Brown (and the Kings will want Brown).

I think it's best to wait for the season to start, for Cousins to tick off Joerger, and for him to force a trade.

Amir for DMC works salary wise.  Throw in the 2017 and 2018 BK picks and I am OK with it.  Can toss any young guys but Smart and Brown in there too.

Keep in mind guys also that offer sheets need be for at least 2 guaranteed years. What this would mean is that he would miss out on next years salary cap bump to try and get a good contract. So not only would he be committing himself to at least 2 years at low salary, he'll probably be missing out on the best opportunity to make a lot of money.

So yeah, I don't see him accepting a low money offer sheet. He'll either stick around with the QO or get a big one-year deal. Of course, he might not do anything and force the Cs to renounce his QO by waiting it out (very much doubt Danny sticks around with that amount of cap space unused when he has a lot of bodies to juggle for roster space) hence becoming an UFA this year. But the market might have dried up by then. So we'll see how it goes.

Of course if Danny convinces all 2nd rounders to get an non-NBA contract, then the scenario and leverage changes.
