key is eliminate the only real force they have --- Draymond Green.

This is the key to their domination. Durant, especially by this move, has confirmed he is not an alpha. Build a team that will eliminate Green, hound Curry and Thompson all game and they can be beat.

If they let Iguodala or Bogut go they are really beatable because their big three Curry, Durant and Thompson can be punked.

Replace Barnes with Durant and GS would have blown out Cleveland.  The only thing that can beat them are injuries.

Sure, maybe Durant suffers a season-ending injury!

...Oh wait, they're still a 73-win team.

GSW will be worse, they have no bench, no bogut.
If you think the offense is going to surpass that, think again. Boston celtics will show you how to beat them.

The problem is, how we get a good center and a great scorer to win a title in Boston.
That's the only question will should think about now.

This seems to forget that they gutted their team to get Durant in the first place...

The only depth they lose is Ezeli. Obviously Bogut is a big loss but I'm sure they can find a ring-chaser that will replicate 70% of his production from somewhere.

I didn't say "inury", I said "injuries".   :)

What exactly did they gut? They swapped out Harrison Barnes and are losing Bogut, Speights, and Ezeli.

You saw what losing Bogut did to them in the Finals. They have 0 run protection now. Let's not go proclaiming then the champs until we see the rest of their roster. I remember the Cavs being certain to win the title in the summer of 2014, too...

I may be wrong, but aren't they losing:
Bogut
Barnes
Speights
Ezeli
Barbosa
Clark
Rush

That's pretty much the entire team aside from the 3, Iggy and Livingston.

Spurs and Cavs got Vets for the minimum or with large discounts because of the opportunity of contending. The same will happen to the GSW.

There are Zaza, JR, Terrence Jones, Bass, David West, Scola, Gerald Green and other good names for the bench that have earned low money last season

It will be interesting to see how this works out. I am sure they will be able to sign a couple of decent-ish guys for their bench, but if this offseason has proven anything, it's that marginal talent will get you lots and lots of money. The difference between 1 and 3 million was probably enough to bring a good veteran into the mix for a chance at a ring. Now, those same guys should easily get $10M+. It will be difficult for a lot of them to pass up one last mega-payday.

The thing is just about everyone has cap space.  Would someone like Zaza really turn down millions of dollars to sign for the vet minimum??  It's going to be interesting to see how the rest of their roster shakes out.

you might be thinking of the miami heat here, when they had 3 stars and a bunch of scrubs. this GSW is deeper and much better.

things are not settled yet, but they strike me as having 5-6 good to great players. it will interesting to see whom else they can add at vet minimum or there about.

right now, they are the team to beat in the world.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

GS has no one on their bench under contract past next season. They also have a few contributors who are FA this season.

If they use Bird rights, they can retain guys. But without Bird rights they will hit the cap quickly, even with Thompson and Green now having below market deals. Keep in mind that Curry will be a FA after next season and will get paid over start at 30m a season if we assume he will be their designated player and entitled to 30% of cap.
