There is nothing gimicky about the GS offense. The only think that stops it is Curry having bad legs.
There is nothing gimicky about pick and rolls. There is nothing gimicky about spacing and taking efficient shots.
There is no "tried and tested formula" against them apart from hoping Curry gets hurt. You can't just choose to "dictate pace". You are only able to dictate pace if Curry lost his explosiveness and can't get open or penetrate and kick, making it hard for GS to get good looks. It also helps to get Green suspended for a game.
It is easy to tell yourself these is some strategy that will get it done but you will still lose to the talent if they are healthy. Or unless you out-talent them, which is hard at the moment. Throw your bigs out there and enjoy watching they get embarrassed on pick and rolls.
Still, every team can lose a series because there is so much chance in life. GS still needs to get a big to replace Bogut. Looks like Zaza will be part of that solution on the cheap.
Go ahead and give the last two championships asterisks then, because I will tell you now that in my opinion GSW would have lost to a full strength Cav team in 2015. So I see your Green suspension in 2016 and I raise you the injuries to Love and Irving in 2015.
You completely missed the point.
The GS system is fine. The Cavs can beat them because the Cavs also have great talent. It isn't due to problem with the GS system. The vulnerability isn't the system. It is the fact that it requires Curry's quickness and he just isn't as solid as Lebron. Lebron is less vulnerable to having his game marginalized by injury. Curry is very vulnerable. The same is true for Kyrie. Give him bad wheels and his game will deteriorate. But the Cavs are more reliant on KJ than Kyrie.
Asterisks are irrelevant to my comment. My comment is about the efficacy of the system. The system is fine.
