Devin Booker sounding very confident in post game interview. He scored 28 of the Suns 86 points.

I love Booker.

As much as I'm looking forward to the Celtics game, James Young notwithstanding, of course, I'm also eager to see the Wizards at 6:30.  Come on Daniel Ochefu, Danuel House, and Sheldon McClellan, but Ochefu, in particular - make me look like even more of an idiot than usual, ahaha ;D.

Yeah, I think he can be even better than Thompson. His handle and ability to score inside is much better than Thompson's, who is mainly a shooter.

Is anyone watching the Lakers-Sixers game?  I'm not but I'm Lma0 at Ingram and Russell, who are 2/10 for 5 points (after missing his first 8 shots :o, I believe), and 6/18 for 16 points, respectively ::)

Looks like Jamal Murray had another rough outing, as well, with 6 points ::) on 2/11 from the floor, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 turnovers :o, and a block, and to top it all off, he was completely dwarfed by the immortal Jimmer Fredette (sarcasm), who poured in 26 points.  I know that it's just summer league, but still, lol ;D.

I said last night that jimmer looked much more ready on both ends of the court than Murray did. It's kinda sad.

Maybe on the offensive end, but Booker is terrible defensively, whereas Thompson is a great defender.

While I agree with you about Thompson's handle, which isn't that great, to be kind ;D, when you say 'score inside', are you referring to the ability to get to the basket off of the dribble, or scoring in the post, because Klay can do the latter, although I'm not sure that he did so very often, if at all, in the playoffs, iirc.

So far this Summer My Favorite C's Rookies are:

NADER....this guy can play--super coordinated, can dribble, shoot and finish.
YABUSULE...Does lots of good thing out there, sets good screens, shoots better than advertised.

I know it's only been like 1-1/2 games, but I'm feeling Sick to my stomach watching Jaylen Brown play---Huge WHIFFF by Ainge.? You had the THIRD Freaking Pick. Trade it, or Pick the best player --you did Neither.
I remember Mannix saying, that this guy was NOT good at Basketball. Hoping things change---cause Danny and Brad are supposed to be Smart guys....What on earth did they see in him ? He plays Chess-? uggh.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I think he's a lot more offensively versatile than Klay, while still being a similarly-skilled shooter. Where Klay is more of a pure shooter, I think Booker is an actual scorer, who also has the potential to be an elite shoter.

Hey, jpotter33, I just saw Booker's highlights from today's game, and, granted, it's only summer league, but I didn't know that he could score in the post, so I stand corrected.  In fairness, though, I never watch Suns' games, lol ;D.

I had really wanted Bender, so I'm curious to see how he turns out.  Brown was my second choice so I'm not disappointed.  I was hoping we could have drafted Bender and traded up to get Brown.  Then I was hoping that we could have gotten Maker with the 16th pick, but then he went 10.  So far I'm happy with Brown but regret not getting Maker.   After one SL game my eye test says Maker > Bender.

I just caught a few of the Phoenix/Portland game.  Bender was carrying the ball with every dribble.  He's 1 for 7 from 3 and the one he made was an accidental bank.

That's why I'm happy with Brown, even though he missed shots too, and I really only regret Maker not being available at 16.

I was hoping for Maker with the 31st pick.  I couldn't believe he went so early.   I didn't see him play yesterday.  I hope to catch one of his games.

Maker stats
15 pts 13 rbs 1 stl 2 blk

Bender stats
12 pts 7 rbs 1 ast 2 stl

Would have been nice to make the move that Phenix did and get Maker to go along with Brown.

7 footers like Maker and Bender are not in every Draft, it would have been nice to get one.    Players like brown are there every year.  Not saying he's bad, just that it seems like every year there is a wing with an NBA ready body and athleticism.

The only concerning thing with Booker is that as his usage rate rose last year, his 3P% plummeted.
